I delivered my daughter in 3/06. I chose this practice on a whim and I am SO glad I did. They are wonderful. I can not say enough about the professionalism, care, and support you will recieve from this practice. There are 3 locations for convienence (westerville, Dublin, and Columbus). This a group practice, but everyone if so thoughtful and great! I saw Dr.. Rahl and she is so sweet. I was delivered by a mid-wife (Carol O'Connor) who really is an angel. I had a tough delivery and she made it a breeze! She explained everything, reassured me, and was so supportive! Couldn't ask for better service in all areas!!
Since this is the hospital I live near, I've used this hopital, along with family members, for some time. My mother had to have hip surgery back in 2004. I left her alone for a few hours at night, only to come back to have her scared to death because someone tried to steal her portable DVD player right off her nightstand. When I questioned the staff, no one knew who entered her room at 1AM.
When I delivered my daughter in 2006, I was sure I would get good care. Wrong. The nurses were very cold and abrupt with the way they tended to you. I asked to see someone about basic childcare , something you can request (1st time mom and scared to death) and no one ever showed. I tried to get some sleep because I had a horrible delivery and hadn't slept in 34 hours and a nurse came in, told me I had to tend to my baby, then left (I wasn't breastfeeding, so I asked if I could sleep for a few hours). This was at 6am the day after my delivery. Then, because it was stifling hot in my room, I turned the thermostat to 70 degrees. Another nurse came in and said, 'you are going to freeze your baby to death' so she made me turn it back up to 75 degrees. I also had to wait 2 hours for something cold to drink. I was then forced to use the bathroom an hour after delivery, while the nurse stood there. I couldn't go, so she told me she would have to wait until I did. Didn't say she'd be back, she just literally stood there for 25 mins until I went! All in all, I will never again go to St. Ann's.
After having my 1st child, I chose this practice. I should have done better research. The staff has never been that pleasant. I have seen each DR in the staff and not one seemed that interested in children. In fact, when my daughter became ill, I had to call after hours twice. Both times I got a different DR who was very abrupt and seemed annoyed that I called them. The last straw came when my daughter was getting her routine shots. I placed her on the exam table and she was half asleep. The nurse proceeded to grab her by her legs and dragged her to the other side of the table, which made my daughter scream bloody murder. When I asked her why she did that, she replied, 'I need to do this quickly.' Completely uncalled for and unprofessional. We have seen one DR, for the most part, for the last 6 months and the DR doesn't even remember who we are. Never once have they discussed anything with me, the nurse just hands me information print outs. I was also basically laughed at when I voiced concern over the MMR shot. My daughter had recently been sick and I didn't want her to get the shots. The dr's reaction? he actually told Autism isn't in any way connected to shots, but it developes within the 28th week of gestation. Funny, considering there is no known exact cause, yet this dr deemed himself an expert. Oh, and the time I forgot a diaper, and I politely asked for one, I was told, 'well, if we have one. I dont deal with that, so you will have to ask the front desk.' The place is horrible and I can not believe they have a clientele at all. The only positive thing I can say is that there is hardly any waiting.
