Las Vegas Athletic Clubs

Las Vegas, NV Health Clubs & Gyms 12/26/06: 'DON'T JOIN THIS GYM!!!!!!!!!'

Let me first get the one positive out of the way....the gym was fine in regards to what it offered in equipment for the price. Now for the negatives....sales associates are misleading, gym is always packed, contract is disregarded by LVAC, and customer service is horrible.

I moved away from Las Vegas about seven months ago and I am still being hassled by LVAC. Right before I moved several months ago, I spoke with an associate to ensure everything would be taken care of, and I was given the conditions to break the contract. At that time I paid the $50 contract break fee, the one month termination fee, and thought that was the end of it. Then a few months later I receive a call from LVAC saying that I owe $93 in membership fees ($31 for 3 months). I sent this check stating final payment and also faxed a copy of my new lease showing proof that I no longer live there to avoid any further hassle. It has now been another 3 months since that payment and I just received another call asking for 2 more months of membership fees. They also said they have never received the faxed lease even though I received confirmation that they did. They had also cashed my check stating final payment. The customer service agent was also very, very rude.

So if you plan on signing up with this gym be prepared for this gym to work you over at the first opportunity. And if you move, certify mail everything as they apparently lose faxes and keep billing you. Or avoid the hassle altogether and join 24 Hour Fitness, which my boyfriend had no problems with when we moved out of state.
