Tangles

So, I've been to Tangles a few times off and on over the past 6 years. The first time I went I had the most amazing hairdresser: I was thrilled with the color & cut.

Six months ago, I called Tangles to make an appointment: my regular girl wasn't there so they gave me someone else. It's a professional establishment, I thought. They can handle a head of hair as simple as mine (it's just long and thick and layered, how hard is that?!) Foolishly, I made the appointment before a wedding.

I went in asking for short layers to frame my face in the front and to keep the length long: to cut as little as possible (keeping with the LONG HAIR theme.) I came out of there with damp hair, 1 inch bangs in the front (that didn't even work with my cowlick/part) and hair that was chopped from the middle of my lower back to the top of my shoulder-blades. AND, she THINNED my hair with shears: most people WANT thick hair and use product for it. I HAVE thick hair and she sheared it THEN tried to sell me texture product. WFT?!

I was devastated and have spent the last six months growing out my haircut: i've actually JUST gotten to the haircut I originally asked for. In the meantime, I could tell it was a horrible haircut because there are all these spare hairs that just go against the grain of the style: that's the sign of a hairdresser who REALLY doesn't know what they're doing.

Horrible haircut, but overall good service at the salon (tea/coffee, etc.)

Butler Heather L Md - Marion Quinn Inc

At the risk of impacting her already packed appointment book I must say that Dr. Butler is superior. She's very sweet, very calm, doesn't rush you at all, and is very matter of fact. I went to her with a face and back erupting with cystic acne. it only took a couple of months for her course of action to work and now my face and now I wont go to anyone.

Lucy Krikorian Electrolysis

Around 6 years ago, I went to another electrologist (who shall go unnamed) and after one treatment I had a horrible infection in every spot she treated. I was in tears, I couldn't leave my house, I had a moustache of infected, pus-filled bumps...when I went back to the same person, she treated the SAME AREA and said it would be fine...Obviously, it got worse...

I was referred to Lucy by a dear friend, and when I went to Lucy, she told me all the risks involved in going to an electrologist who does not sterilize properly, explained to me what proper sterilization should include. She refused to treat my face until the infection cleared up, and explained to me why it's a bad idea to treat an infected area (duh!) and immediately referred me to a dermatologist, who put me on strong antibiotics. Right after my very infected face cleared up I made my first appointment with Lucy and I've been there ever since....She's meticulous, extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and personable. She's simply the best in the business. I won't go to anyone else ever again
