How can I write this review without sounding like I'm bashing? Well, I will write my experiences, and that's that.I chose this school as it seemed fun, lots of stimulating play areas, indoors and out. Our family was going through some traumatic life altering times, and for that year alone, I couldn't spend the time I wanted or needed to teach all the fundamentals needed to start Kindergarten. So, I expected they would make progress with the children and prepare the one for the following year of Kinder. So, I sent 2 of my daughters here, around 2003-2004. Parking is great. They have their own private lot. Security to get into the school is great. You must have a code. The lobby is spacious, the reception desk is right there, as is the Sick Room and the Directors office. Check in/out of your child was always great, it's all computerized. One of my daughters went there the year prior to starting Kindergarten, and she went there an entire school year. She came out baring knowing how to write the alphabet! Forget writing 1-10. Her coloring was nothing but nasty looking scribble. She could barely hold the scissors properly. When I would pop in, I usually found chaos in the classroom! WAY, WAY too many kids!! SICK kids! Their Sick Policy is extremely lax, and my child always ended up sick! The teachers for the 4-5 year olds were very nice, very loving. But they didn't know how to control, or teach a large group of children. My younger daughter had great teachers, very sweet, very loving. They seemed to have better control of the 2 year old class. More reading and crafts went on in that classroom, more hands on toys play. I didn't expect so much from the 2 year olds class, as I did the 4 year olds class. The playground was great, and so was their indoor town play area, with slide and ball pit. I just can't get past the fact that the children were always sick there. I got to know many of the teachers there, and we became friends. We've even been to a couple of their houses a few times. The school's director led the school through an immoral pregnancy, with the school's owner. She was unmarried, and her attitude was a bit trashy. Many of the teachers and parents frowned down on her actions, hopefully the children were too young to understand, unless they overheard the adults talking. The tuition paid is WAY TOO HIGH for the type of education, or lack there of, your child will, or won't receive. Do yourself, AND YOUR CHILD a big favor, LOOK ELSEWHERE! Your child deserves the best start to his/her education, and this place is NOT IT!! May I recommend RSM Montessori?? I sent one of my children there! THEY ARE TOPS!
WHY couldn't I have found this private school YEARS ago for my other daughters?! I went in for a tour, and walked out with my jaw still on the floor. I saw 3-4 year olds reading and writing, WRITING!! IN CURSIVE!! The following year my youngest would be starting Kindergarten in a public school, and after having sent her to another local private pre-school, TUTOR TIME in RSM, which is a TOTAL GERM FACTORY and WASTE OF MONEY, (that's another review), I HAD to get my daughter into RSM Montessori! And so, I did. Mrs. Anne, the owner and director of the school is THEE SWEETEST AND MOST GENUINE PERSON you will ever meet! She says hello, goodbye, how was your day, etc... to EVERY little person who passes her! She is FILLED with knowledge & love, and knows how to run a school. I forget how much experience she has, but I know it's decades! And her staff of educators are THE BEST! The children learn every day life, manners, foreign languages, computer, everything you can think of! I went to their Christmas performance, and up on stage was my little girl, dancing with her little male partner, and then she grabbed the microphone afterwards, and SPOKE IN THE LANGUAGE URDU. What in the world??? I was so impressed!! My daughter not only learned MANY cultures, she learned bits of their language, their dances, their dress. NO OTHER SCHOOL can hold a candle to this school. If you want to send your child to a school where they will become cultured and experience the world without leaving the school, this is it. If you want your child to scribble on some paper with crayons & markers, stick them in a daycare. This school serves hot lunches & has a variety of schedules available to pick from as to when you can drop off & pick up your child. They offer extra curricular activities too. They are very health conscious, and often offer free seminars for parents to go & listen to. Before you make a decision to send your child anywhere, TOUR THIS SCHOOL. It may be on the plainer, more boring looking side, that almost discouraged me from sending my daughter there!! But I soon realized the plain walls wouldn't be a distraction from what is being taught and learned in the classroom. ALL WORKED OUT for the BEST! My daughter is at the TOP of her class in Kindergarten and whizzes through a whole weeks worth of kindergarten work in about 1/2 hour. I saw her GROW & FLOURISH HERE. Her teachers were Miss Laura & Miss Shabana. Simply the best!
My girls and I were hooked the moment we taste tested the 2 teas offered on their sample table in the entry way of this Tea Shop! There were many hot & cold tea samples offered in the store, all were combined with another variety, and we ended up buying both! The tea is sold by the ounce. They sell White, Oolong, Herbal Infusions, Mate, Rooibos/Red, Green, Flavored/Scented Green, Black Single Estate/Blends, Flavored and Scented Black, and Decaf Flavored Black Teas. These are all their main categories. There are lots of teas under each category to choose from. Good luck choosing!! It's tough because they all smell & taste so good! Before purchasing, if they don't have what you are thinking about purchasing out as as a sample, they will get the loose tea out, and open the huge lid, and fan the aroma to you for you to inhale. You can usually tell by the aroma, if you will enjoy the flavor or not. They offer booklets that tell why that particular tea is beneficial to you. If you are serious about your tea and the benefits it offers, you will want to buy their airtight containers they sell, as they are a great value, and they keep your tea fresh for close to a year. Measure the cabinet you want to store your tea in first, so you know which height of canister will fit best in your pantry. If you buy the tea, and store it in the bag they provide, it will sure loose it's potency in about 2 weeks. The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable!! They sell ceramic, cast iron & Yixing Tea Pots, along with a few others. They will explain the difference in all of them, no pressure to buy! The cast iron tea warmers they sell are a must if you want to keep a pot of tea hot for a few hours!!! EXCELLENT QUALITY, both in their Teas/ Herbs and in their merchandise they sell. I've bought TONS of tea there, teapots, cups, warmers & other accessories. Did I mention, they have a Tea Bar?! You can walk in and order a tea drink, hot, cold or frozen!! A MUST!! At first I bought a ceramic tea pot elsewhere, and I took it in to Teavana, & they helped me select from their large selection of tea infusers to fit my pot! The infuser filters the loose teas & herbs they sell. Did I mention they mark the back of your airtight container with what type of tea you bought, and how much tea you should use per oz. of water, & how hot the water should be & the steeping time!! GO! TRY IT! YOU WILL BE HOOKED! And Tea has such profound health effects.
We frequent Build A Bear, for outfits and accessories. We went once about 2 years ago, for my oldest daughter's birthday. She & her sister's all picked their favorite animal, which took forever because they have a huge selection & they are all so adorable!! The kids had to touch each one and feel the softness & cuddliness of each. Then you move on to picking a sound to insert in your animal. Then you get to stuff it. But first, you must pick a heart to put inside your animal, and then you make a wish, pump the heart, and place it inside your new stuffed friend. The employee does the stuffing, while your child puts their food on the pedal. Then the animal is sewn up, and given to your child to "wash" up. There is a pretend wash tub, with air to fluff the fur, and a brush to help. Then the process of dressing your animal begins. Oh my!! They definitely need some chairs for parents to sit while they wait, and wait, and wait!! I have 3 girls, and it took over 1 1/2 hours for the entire process. We just returned recently so my girls could spend their Christmas money. Same great service, same great selection. One thing I would recommend.... based on the outcome of one of my daughter's Snow Leopard she just made. This Snow Leopard is so cute and cuddling, and she picked out the sound of a loud ROAR!!! Then she dressed it in a BEAUTIFUL embossed red velvet and satin dress with bows on her ears. The Snow Leopards name is Rose. She is so Sweet & Dainty & Cuddly. Her ROAR, does NOT fit what she looks like!! My daughter wishes she would have put the cute little MEOW in her instead. It would be more fitting. No doubt, my daughter will not change her clothes to something tough to match that ROAR. Did I mention you get a birth certificate with your new friend? Very cute. Another draw back to the sound, is that you can't machine wash your stuffed animal. They sell a spray to surface clean, or you can wash the surface with a very damp washrag & some soap. But if you like to keep the dust off & are looking for a truly clean animal often, forget the sound! Or just be prepared for it to not work anymore after you machine wash. We did machine wash one, on gentle cycle, in a pillow case. It turned out fine, but no more sound. Go!! Have fun!! WEAR GOOD SHOES! (there's no place to sit)
What a great menu! They have a lot of choices, and the flavors are all so unique. We have always received great service, and we always seem to walk out with more bagels than what we intended! The bagels heat up well at home too. Just be sure to wrap them in a paper towel to keep them from becoming chewy!! I think they are competitively priced, and a great deal for your money.
We stopped at this restaurant, and we were in a hurry. We told the waitress up front, that we were in a hurry. She was awesome!! We were in and out of this sit down restaurant in less than 1/2 hour!! We ordered burgers and fries. They were great, prepared as we like. As much as we liked the food, I just have to focus on the fact that we were so rushed this day, and I was SO IMPRESSED with the fact that they were busy, not packed, but busy, and our waitress made sure we were served immediately! We got our drinks almost instantly, we ordered, the kids used the restroom, & the food was on the table by the time they returned. It's a clean restaurant too. Very nice staff.
This is a great place to take the kids! They sing while they make your ice cream! They are fun, and make waiting in that long line worth while!! The ice cream is to die for, and they always get our orders right! There menu is large, it is hard to decide what to get! They are very genorous with the portions, but then, it is a bit pricey. But worth it!! I recommend everybody in your group getting something different, and then grab some spoons & share with each other! This ice cream is too YUMMY to not try it all! In the summer, they are swamped with little kids sport's teams going in, in the evenings for an after game snack. But still, WORTH THE WAIT!
We love Wood Ranch. Try the Tri-Tip Roast. It is the best! Their smashed sweet potatoes are great, and so is their peanut coleslaw. I've had some awesome servers, and I ask to be seated at their tables if there is room. Some servers take your order and then you only see them once after that. The manager walks around and sometims checks in on your table to see if everything is ok. I've used their Curbside service, and I've also gone in to pick up orders. I've never had a problem with the servers or the order. I recommend this restaurant.
I LOVE the hand on the back. It's like a maze in there, and I go to completely relax and escape. I love that they guide me around, I don't have to think & I can be putty in their hands! After my massages I am so groggy & out of it, I would probably end up in a storage room or something if I didn't have the help getting back to the women's spa. As for my massage therapists & estheticians, I have had mostly outstanding ones. I always call the spa itself, & I MAKE SURE I am speaking to a Mission Viejo person, sometimes their phones transfer to a call center someplace else. Then I tell them what it is 'I Like'. ASK when booking an appointment "Who do you Highly Recommend?", for what it is I'm looking for. ASK who gets a lot of Referrals! That's how I've found the best there!! Believe me, they have a lot of GREAT treatments. I have found the best they have there, and I won't see anybody else now. I recommend getting your FACIAL from Brian, Kendall, Crystal, Deborah, Jordan & Suzanne. They were outstanding!! As for massage, it's NOT true that guys are stronger at it (but Gary is great!), girls have those pointy-er elbows!! I recommend for MASSAGE: Gary, Kylie, Cameron, Jenna & Akemi. They are all OUTSTANDING! But I like very firm pressure. There are other therapist who won't go deep enough. These people above will! If you get a cold massage room, just ask them to turn the HEAT up on the massage table! YES, they're heated! (they can turn it off if you'd like too). I've told my therapist in the past that I was still cold, so she went and got a portable heater. I'm telling you guys, they go above & beyond for you, at this spa! When you go, you must try out their Eucalyptus steam room! It's heavenly! I sit in there and just sweat it out, and breath deeply, allowing my body to absorb that Eucalyptus. There's nothing like it! Oh, and you have to try one of their Aromatherapy washcloth thingies. I don't know what they're called, but they are wrapped up in plastic wrap, and placed in what appears to be a wine refrigerator (sorry, no wine), and they are in the women's spa (locker room) near the restrooms & sinks. Place one of those clothes over your face & feel the healing begin. Oh my gosh, there is truly nothing like it! I think I go there just for that! I put one over my face in the Quiet room while I take a little nap between my services, I put an aromatherapy cloth over my face in the jacuzzi, in the steam room & even in the dry sauna. Love their herbal tea, it's Chamomile. Yummy! Always fresh fruit available, and they have both plain water and flavored water. They put cucumbers and oranges or lemons in it. So good you can't stop drinking it! They offer endless towels, shaving lotion, razors, hair caps, women's personal hygiene products, shower products, hair & styling products, are ALL INCLUDED!! It's pretty amazing! Lets see.... what else? Great service from all the employees there, they are very friendly. It is true that the weekends are packed there, less relaxing. So, if the person you really want to see works during the week, go then! I have also found that being the VERY first appointment of the day, or the VERY last appointment of the day, the entire spa is much quieter. Mid-day Saturday and Sunday, it's complete craziness in there! When I find a day my therapist is working that works for me, I book ahead! I occasionally call to see if she's added any days on. She told me she always picks up extra shifts there to try to accommodate her repeat clients & their preference times! See what I mean?! You gotta love this spa!! GO!!
