Church's Chicken
Horrible customer service, they will keep you waiting in the Drive Thru. Chicken is always cooking, never ready. They gave me a pop one time tha lacked flavor, just tasted like carbonated water, when I went to complain the next day, the manager did not offere any type of apology. Chicken is ok.
Wendy's
The wait time at the drive thru used to be horrible. Lately it has been improving a lot. Usually they have my order waiting for me once I reach the second window after paying at the first window and sometimes I even get a "Have a good day!" ;-) I like the taco salads, however if you want a burger with a lot of meat, this is your place!
Detroit Institute Of Arts
This is a wonderful place to enjoy many interesting exhibits. Check ahead of time for hours of operation. I have been there many time to view exhibits or to take part in programs going on at the museum. During the summer, they have a jazz series that is very good. They also have very good art workshops for children.
Walgreens
When this Walgreens, they had the best customer service and merchandise available. Now they are down to one cashier unless line is long. During that first week, no waiting in line. I don't find their selection to be as vast as CVS, however I would rather go there than Rite Aid.
Cvs Pharmacy
Of all three drug stores in the area, I usually patronize CVS on Jefferson the most. They have great customer service, from the manager, to Robert who greets each customer and carries your bags to your car. They have great sales and I can usually find what I want there. Never had any problems with their pharmacy, very professional.
Rite Aid
They usually only have one person working on the register. By the time they call someone else to help ring up customers, the line is usually down to one....The pharmacy is never crowded however, maybe I should have my purchases rang up there..
Xochimilco Restaurant
Great place to go after the club...they stay open late. Great food, and service, the food is always, fast and hot. Great nacho chips and salsa while you wait for your dinner. The best margaritas in the world! Mix of urban and suburbanites!
Powerhouse Gym
This is the only Powerhouse Gym that I know that can not stay open. This time it is closed due to bankruptcy. However this is the second owner in five years....So sorry because it was a great place to work out before I went to work!
Detroit Public Library
This is a very good place to go and read especially during the summer. They offer many wonderful programs including bringing in many wonderful authors. Take your children there during the summer, its never crowded! The staff could be a little friendlier considering that the taxpayers are paying their salary...but wonderful place to read and use the computer if you don't have one!
Jet's Pizza
I usually buy garden salads with chicken and shredded cheese, delicious! The large one feeds a family of three. They have good pizza and $1.50 square pizza slices when you don't want to buy a whole pizza. When they make a mistake they are quick to fix it!
