Monk's Pub
I look this pub! The food is great, the drinks are smooth, the waitresses aren't rude and the peanuts are fresh. Great place to hang out after work. Make sure not to where your best shoes, though. The peanut shells on the floor can be a bit overwhelming!
Goose Island Shrimp House
I'm not a seafood person, but I love shrimp! This is one of the best places for regular and jumbo shrimp, especially if you've been out partying all night. They're fast, friendly and the food is the best. Definitely worth the drive if you live on the southside of Chicago.
Bath & Body Works
Whenever I go to this particular store (which seems to be twice a month now) the workers are always friendly and helpful. I can easily spend my entire lunch hour in there, because they show me the new lines and the great deals.
Channing's Day Spa
I went to Channings for a spa day (facial, massage, pedicure and manicure) after I finished finals and I will return.
The people were friendly, knowledge and the atmosphere was great.
Aroma Work Shop
I went to the Aroma Work Shop for a perfume making class offered by the Discovery Center and it was great. I was able to make my own signature fragrance and left out of there with over $70 more dollars worth of stuff. It was well worth it and not only will I return, but I told my friends.
Brazzaz
I don't eat meat, but this place is great! I recently went with co-workers and loved the atmosphere and the salad bar! Very upscale, yet laid back. It is great for parties, meetings or just a night on the town. I heard the meat is excellent as well and worth the price.
The Black Ensemble Theater
I recently went and saw "SOUNDS SO GOOD MAKES YOUWANNA HOLLER" written by Dawn Bless and Reuben Echoles and was glad I did. The play was great. It combined music and comedy to make for a great show. The seating in the theater was great, because there wasn't a bad seat in the house. A great mixture of old school and nu school music to keep people of all ages interested. The cast did an excellent job and the band kept everyone's feet tapping.
Verizon Wireless
The customer service at this store is terrible. The representatives are slow, have no knowledge of services or products offered and are rude. I would rather drive 15 miles out of my way to another corporate store so that I can receive better service.
Country Fair Foods
I love this store, but had a bad experience with a cashier-Bernie- the Saturday before Christmas of 2007 at around 3:15p.m. She was real standoff-ish, rude and made a snide comment that she didn't think I heard, to the bag boy. Because I'm an adult and because I believe racism is a learned trait, I ignored her and refused to allow her to be the reason that I would stop coming to the store. I just know to avoid her at all costs. If though for some reason I have to get in her line again and she does it again I will go to the manager.
Overall the store is great. Excellent atmosphere, fresh produce and meats, great selections at reasonable prices.
Elephant & Castle
Charming pub in the heart of the Loop, Elephant and Castle is a British-style restaurant that is excellent. When you arrive you have to try the Pub Pretzels and Beer Fingers. Trust me...you will return over and over again.Bang on!
