Rusnak Mercedes (Service)
I've been customers of Rusnak for quite some time now...my 3rd MB. Usually Ernie helps me out but he recently left. Service is still good but Ernie was very attentive and always went out of his way to accomadate all that was needed. Overall, I still would recommend.
Arnie Morton's The Steakhouse
I tried all the well known steak houses in LA and this is my favorite. The place is not fancy but the food is great. When I crave for a great steak and stiff drinks, this is the place to go.
Mako Sushi
Good food.....I drive all the way out here for some good sushi. They give great portions and food is fresh. The are usually very busy and wait for the sushi bar can be long. This place isn't fancy and waitress service is okay but the sushi chefs are great...especially Utaka. GReat local place. I would recommend going for some great sushi.....go sit at the sushi bar and have a drink with the chefs.
The Hump
I went to eat sushi here a couple months ago with my wife and was very disappointed. We usually try different sushi places every other week and try new restuarants weekly and this one was the worst. I don't know how LA magazine rates them so highly!! Yes, I agree the sushi is fresh but it wasn't all that. Presentation was great (the live moving lobster was impressive)...but the overall taste was so-so. What I was very disappointed in was service. Our waiter constantly would forget about us and simply asking if we wanted another drink....never happened. We had to ask for our check several times..and when we finally got it...it took forever to charge my card. I also heard complaints from this place from other people....after the fact we dined there. I've been to hole-in-the wall restaurants with much better and attentive service. They really made us feel unimportant....even though we spent $237 for dinner for two. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend.
North Figueroa Animal Hospital
I'm surprised about the negative comments....especially the last one. Suprisingly, the Awful comment was just recently made. Unfortunatley, North Fig Animal Hospital had a FIRE and has been closed for over a year...that review was made a couple days ago...I'm positive they are talking about the wrong hospital. I have to defend Dr. Vasquez and his staff. I've been taking my pets to him for the past 12 years and seen how well he cares for my dogs and cats. The doctors are very knowledable, quick, and TO THE POINT!!!I do agree that this animal hospital can be VERY crowded and busy....to me that is a good sign of a good business and that they provide quality medicine. Since this animal hospital has temporarily closed, I did have to take my ill cat to another local hospital. iT just isn't the same at other animal hospitals. I didn't know how happy I was with North Fig Animal Hospital until I visited another hospital. I recently passed by their "temporarily closed" clinic and there is a sign saying under renovation. Their phone message says they will be opening up again in May.....THANK GOD!!! .Again, I'm thankful for having such a good place to bring my pets. I'll be first in line when they open back up!!!!
