How many of us who have kids have realized that McDonalds is just one of those phases all kids go through. They see those Arches and begin to holler...."I want..." or "I need...". Of course you and I both know, they don't "need" or "want" because you just left the house. But we, invariably, stop in...or rather "drive thru". But that's ok because we know what to expect from here. You get the burger and fries and drink meal and you are on your way. We still drive thru this McD's every now and then for a quick fish sandwich or shake. Hard to let go of some phases, isn't it? This McD's is always clean and busy, but you get good service and usually quick, too.
This visitors center is top notch. They have such an awesome view of the mighty Mississippi River and it is a great rest stop. The center is located right up on the hill off the River and you can watch the barges moving under the bridge and see the River with a clear view from both directions. There is an observation point of the river further up the hill on which there is a cannon. It gives you a perspective of the soldiers who fought here during the Civil War. (Nice history lesson for the kids.) The restrooms have, recently, been updated and are always kept clean. There is, also, a guard on duty at all times. Great stop on long trips.
This wal mart supercenter is not too far from my dad, so when the family gathers around, then we head to the supercenter to find some groceries. It would not be my first choice simply because I would rather shop closer to his home. But this store tends to have a few extra items that you just don't find in small town grocery stores. So off we go and usually find just what we need. Sometimes, we have to adjust our menu but we end up with something good to feed a crowd. As for the service, they are ok, but some are so busy that they just don't take the time to be courteous.
This restaurant is right on the shore of Caddo lake and in a most rustic kind of building....like an old camp house or something. but the food is great. They know how to cook the catfish and the price is right.
This local grocery store is one of the two in town. It is pretty well stocked and the staff may be a little preoccupied but they are friendly enough. They seem to have great produce and some good meats. Ample parking and, sometimes, good sales.
This clinic is a great asset to this community. They provide a much needed service for this town. They are located right across from the hospital. I recently had to pay a visit to the clinic and I was quite impressed with the young lady doctor. She was very caring and took great care to see that I was comfortable. I am so glad to know that they are so close should my family need them. I would recommend them to everyone.
This store has been around for quite sometime and they are friendly and helpful. It is convenient for those living in the area to get to and they have comparable items from the city stores. The prices are fair. They seem to want to be sure you have what you need.
Hey if you enjoy a good fish fry then stop in here and get a good meal. They do know how to cook that fish. It is delicious!. They have the fries and slaw too. The slaw is served a little different than most places though. You mix it yourself. You add the dressing at the table...their recipe but I assure you it is some good eatin!
This is a small town wal mart. But an asset all the same. They have expanded alot over the course of a few years and continue to strive to provide their customers with everything they would need. They are a busy store and rightfully so. The employees are busy but helpful and friendly. They keep the shelves stocked. Parking lot is almost as busy as inside but still can usually find a place to park. They are not a huge size store but have begun to rearrange and add a few groceries, as well. Maybe not a big supercenter but they are a super center.
We have used this clinic for our dad this past couple of years and have been very pleased. Every time he has had to make an appointment they have worked with him and his circumstances to accommodate and tend to his needs. They have, also, made sure that every question was fully answered and understood. A most caring group and highly recommended.
