This is one of my husbands favorite restaurants. He loves the fact that you can eat all you want...get full....and on a great price. They have several food bars to choose from. Salads, meats, veggies, and desserts. You can't go wrong here. Ample seating and you serve yourself, with the exception of the drinks, which a waitress will keep flowing. Great place for lunch or dinner. They have a great location too. At the intersection of Mansfield Road and Indusrtial Loop.
We often stop here on our way through town. They have a clean store and very friendly employees. We can pick up some items her that we may not find in a smaller town. I like the fact that things are easy to find and the prices are good. we have bought more than one special birthday cake here...namely an ice cream cake. and yes, they will put a name on it for you, with enough notice. Like I said, nice people. Plenty of parking too.
This store has everything. Everything you need for a home project. And the staff is very helpful so if you have questions just ask. They, also, carry appliances and at competitive prices. The location is easy to find as well on Airline Drive right off of I-220.
I have been gone from "home" for quite some time now. Many years to be exact. But I have always kept up with the folks back home by keeping up with the "Caddo Citizen". I love the news of who is getting married and who had a baby. Also, news of the town politics and new businesses, and the schools. They, also, publish church news. So I feel as if I am still involved with home town folks. It's great!
I enjoy reading the Times. It has been around for a very long time and they cover a wide range of topics. The world news, the national news and the local news. They have a section for specials and they lists obits and weddings. I enjoy their comics. Nice collection of funnies. I suppose the best thing would be the fact that they deliver to your front yard rain or shine. Problem is sometimes the carriers forget to check the forecast and the paper gets wet. You would think they could read their own paper. It is nice to be able to pick up a paper and read and be informed.
Having traveled to many a location I do get a bit picky about where I lay my head. This is a local motel and for the comforts of home it is not, however, it has been reasonably priced and clean for the most part. The staff has been courteous. If in a bind and need extra beds when overcrowed, then this is an ok place for that. I know they were suppose to remodel but I have not visited since.
This is a small town and most stores close when they roll up the sidewalk. However, this convenience store is open later than most and is a good place to pick up milk for the morning or whatever. They, also, sell gas. The prices are ok, but I'm an older lady and don't feel that comfortable with the ones who like to hang around outside after dark, if you get my drift. So if you need something, be careful. Nice it is there but wish they could do something about the gatherings.
This little radio station has been around for a very long time. Being locally owned, it offers country and gospel music. The DJs are some pretty special people and try to keep you informed as to the local flavor of the town..the politics, the elderly, the sick, and yes, they do, actually, still call out birthday wishes. They have a morning call- in show in which the surrounding area calls in and offers trades or sell prices for items they they wish to get rid of..."the swap shop". Of course, they keep you informed of news and weather, as well. Tune in, or better yet, call in and let them know you are listening. Sunday is a favorite to most of the townfolk when the radio offers all day gospel and church services are aired. Yep, this is small town america. Gotta love it.
This group of stores is located outside of town right on the intersection of Hwy 1 and Jefferson, Tx turn off. They get traffic heading from, the north or south, heading east or west. You can't miss them since they are the only business/convenience store located at this intersection. They have plenty of parking and offer a variety of services. They have a convenience store and sell gas and, also, have a restaurant. The restaurant is usually pretty busy since it is a truck stop, but the service is still ok....you can, also, take out meals. they have casino on the property, as well.
I like pizza. But not like everyone else Ii suppose. I like it occasionally. Being in a small town, however, you have limited selections for eating out. This is one place that we have ordered from and picked it up. Sometimes, they are very busy and the service is slow. Other times, they are quick and pleasant and the food is good. I have met friends there for lunch...good buffet. And it is, also, a good place to take the kids.
