This office is good at explaining things and sending out reminders. My dogs and kids like going here. The staff are professional but laid-back. The prices are about average.
They have an exam room directly off the waiting room where you go in for checkups. If they have to do any tests, they take your pet into the back area.
I have been using this photo studio for about 2 years now, and I have been really happy with the work they've done.
I used to go to Sears, but when they changed their system over to digital, the quality of the prints suffered. I also think the Walmart studios result in inferior quality photos.
JCPenney has recently changed their system, as well, and I really miss being able to see the photos immediately on a monitor as they are taken. That's the downside.
PROS: Very inexpensive; w/ coupon- $4 sheet, friendly, professional photographers, quality photos, see and order photos same day
CONS: Staff is often running behind schedule (not good for kids/groups), can't see photos on monitor during photo session anymore
We were a military family for 8 years, so our children have been in several schools. About two years ago we bought our first house to settle down in Newberg, which means our kids go to Edwards.
I have been pleased with the level of caring I have observed on the part of the teachers and other staff members at this school. The building and grounds are pleasant and in good repair.
The biggest challenge this school faces, in my opinion, is trying to integrate the Spanish-speaking children without holding back the education of the other students.
Also, the communication needs work. One day I kept my kids home from school because the schedule said 'no school - parent/teacher conferences.' I found out later that they did have class to make up for a snow day. Why didn't they send a note home with at least one of my children? This is just one of many examples of poor communication.
I have been impressed with the staff's willingness and ability to deal with problems as they arise, whether they are scholastic or social in nature.
We had our food delivered to our motel. It was a long wait (about an hour and a half) but it was Saturday night, so we were expecting a delay. The driver forgot part of our order, and we had to call to have him make a second trip. The phone person was helpful.
The prices were pretty high, but that's to be expected in a beach town.
The food was just okay. We ended up throwing half of the pizza away, which surprised me: my family never throws away pizza. I think maybe they didn't love this pizza because the crust was really tough, and the sauce was bland.
I highly recommend the potato jojos, though.
UPDATE: We will not be going to this motel any more. Not only did they raise their rates, but they changed their beds. The new beds give me a sore neck and back.
Don't let the exterior's less-than-perfect appearance keep you from trying this motel. Our family really enjoyed our stay here. We found this place on the internet and chose it because they allowed dogs and the rates were reasonable. We also wanted to stay somewhere right on the beach.
We were SO close to the beach, maybe 20 or 30 feet. It was perfect. Since we had the kitchen in our room, we spent all of our time either in our room or on the beach. We never had to get in the car until it was time to go home. It was great family time.
The one thing that could have been better would be if they had a pool. My kids like to swim when we're on vacation. My son tried going in the ocean and almost froze to death.
One more thing you will need to know if you decide to go here: apparently Lincoln City has a north side and a south side. This motel is on the south side. We drove into town on highway 101 and started looking for it on NW 32nd. We ended up calling someone at the office, who told us this is a common mistake.
We like Wendy's because they have such a variety on their menu and it's not too expensive.
Since we are dieting, we often get the salads at many restaurants, and Wendy's salads are the best by far. Unfortunately, they are not always fresh. More than once I have received a salad with rotting lettuce, which is just gross.
But assuming the salad is fresh, there are a delightful variety. I like the mandarin chicken best.
The Shari's in Sherwood is filthy and run-down. So when my husband suggested we eat at the one in Newberg, I wasn't too excited. But it's not bad. The restaurant is in much better condition.
The food was decent, and a nice change from fast food. Though a little over-priced, it was enjoyable.
The service was satisfactory. We went mid-morning on a weekday, so there were few other customers there.
