Gene & Jude's is a legend here in the chicagoland area, having been around almost 50 years. Even people who are on flight layovers are known to leave O'hare, run over and grab a bag of dogs! These dawgs are FAMOUS!!!
Gene & Judes menu is simple. Pure beef Vienna Hot dogs - choice of toppings: mustard, relish, onion, sport peppers topped with fries. Then, supreme brand tamales, double dogs, fresh cut fries, and soft drinks.
There is NO ketchup in the building. Ketchup is for kids...so don't bother asking.
Keep in mind also, there are no seats, just a nice tall counter for you to eat at if you choose to dine inside. On average this place is packed day in and day out, all day!
You want a dawg - a "rubber dawg", gene & judes is where it's at!!!
If yummy pizza matters to you, . I would send everyone here because I could. I just wish they would feed me for free. If you cannot stand good food, stay away. You'll be hooked
Although they did have great food, sadly they have gone out of business.
If they are reopening anywhere, it is not yet known.
Will advise if they do.
Mad Tapper has absolutely the BEST HOT WINGS around!
The remainder of the menu too is certainly worth a mention. If you stop in, make sure you try out their homemade chips and salsa, and catch them on a steak night every other Saturday night 6 p.m. sharp!!!!
The owner Jerry, definitely knows how to make a bar kitchen work. He's got the best recipes and help.
For entertainment, there is a big screen t.v., 2 pool tables, 2 dart boards, and an outdoor beer garden, and plenty of parking.
But again, make sure you check out those wings. Especially on Wednesday's which is the official wing night!!!!
Honestly, been a customer of G.S. since the first day they opened and in their 20+ years, only once or twice had I needed a situation corrected and they did, with a smile and pleasantness unmatched. Their food is of consistent quality, the flavor never waivers, nor does their service. Due to being around so long, and having such a steady clientele, at times, delivery can be a little slow, but the food still arrives piping hot!If you are not from the neighborhood, this is one place worth going out of your way for. Especially their new stuffed pizza! WOW!
First off, Sneaker's atmosphere consists mainly of 21-mid 30's age range on the evenings. It's a pretty nice place to visit.
They offer karaoke on some nights, and other nights it just jukebox music, but an up to date box. It's clean, spacious, lots of things to do, such as pool, darts, punching bag, etc. and a nice outdoor beer garden. There are t.v.s everywhere within the bar, even in the bathroom, so if you love your sports, you don't have to miss a second of them.
Now their food is of a good quality, and the portions are generous. Anything you order is also available for takeout and delivery as well.
You could reasonably take clients there during the day for business lunches and have a few cocktails.
It's definitely worth stopping in and checking out.
