Go here! Try something new! Okay, Las Cuatro Milpas (the four cornfields) is this little dive in Barrio Logan off of Ceasar Chavez on the 5. They're not you're typical Mexican food place. I don't know what style their food is but it sure is good. They always have a line out the door at lunch and if you don't go early, expect for them to run out. When they run out, they close shortly after at 3pm. (They're in the hood...that's what you do in the hood, close early.) Don't worry about their locale...it's fine, lots of people from downtown go here. What to expect: simple menu, cheap prices, no guac, shredded meat style, fried shell tacos, tamales, beans, rice...oh and awesome, friggin' awesome flour tortillas...BEST in town. By a dozen if you can...did I mention they're hand made everyday?
When you walk in...it's kind of a dive. But a pretty cool crowd. Simple menu, but the burgers are amazing...they get their meat delivered...not frozen...could use a bit of seasoning...scratch that...blasphemy...so good...drooling now.
Nice ambience...clean, fun...can go and hang out at the bar, eat dinner or dance downstairs. Great food, good night menu...really big place...the crowd dresses up...not scrubby.
Okay, the Mission Valley Restaurant is okay. But the birthday party singing is ridiculous. I heard HB'day at least 7 times in a 30 min period. Other thing...don't ever go to the PB one!!! So gross...and dirty.
