I had driven all over Berkeley to find a seamstress to make an adjustment to my gown. I thought it was a pretty simple process, that did not require completely undoing the dress. I was about to walk out when she assured me that she make the dress as I wanted. I drew a picture of how I wanted the dress to look and demonstrated it twice, explained it to her three times and had her explain it back to me.
When I picked up the dress, I was appalled and on the verge of tears! The handiwork was shoddy- I would've done a better job myself!- and the work was NOT what we had discussed. The gown looked NOTHING like the drawing I had given her, which was clearly displayed on the front of the dress bag! As if I hadn't spent enough money on my wedding, I paid her $150 to screw up my wedding dress!!
