This place is mediocre at best. I can't imagine why this place can be so busy. There are so many other really great Mexican restaurants in Tulare. I don't think it is a very good value for the money. Most items seem overpriced to me. The main courses look pretty good, but they do not deliver the flavor I am hoping for. The guacamole had no flavor at all and I think they serve chips out of a bag instead of making them.
Edo-Ya is one of the best teppan-yaki places in Fresno. Japanese Kitchen is a close second. Edo-ya is always packed and reservations fill up fast! Other places in town do not have a wait, but you have to ask yourself why. Edo-ya has the best flavor. The steaks, vegetables and even the rice is truely a step above the rest. The biggest reason Edo-Ya and Japanese Kitchen are both so popular is their hot and spicy sauce. They both serve this pink spicy sauce with red flakes that they pour thick teriyaki sauce over. I don't even like spicy foods, but this stuff is so amazing I would never pass it up. I have never had a problem with the service and I always love the food.
I love this place! It is a "walk up and order" very casual restaurant. Prices are about $6-$8 for a very filling lunch. The woman who works the counter is so friendly and remembers all the regulars. The spicy crispy chicken is so good. The plate comes with rice and salad too and the salad dressing is amazing. None of us live in Fresno anymore, but we stop in for Ginza every chance we get.
I used to like this restaurant, but our most recent visit will be my last. The waitress was horrible and the food was less than mediocre. I ordered the same dish that I had ordered at least 3 times before and it came out nothing like it was supposed to or had in the past. The pasta sauce was on par with Kraft. A few people in our party split pasta dishes and the incompetent server must have given me a half serving as well even though I ordered and paid for a full dish myself. Three of us never even got what they ordered after sending it back and explaining to the waitress what was wrong she still didn't get it right- their staff needs to start listening to her customers because food service is not rocket science. Save yourself the headache of poor service and go somewhere else.
McClintocks is a great steak house. Their food is unbeatable and it is impossible to walk out of here hungry. The steaks and sides are perfect from the onion rings to the dinner salad to the potatoes. They even include dessert or an after dinner liquor- go for the house specialty- the Tan Ferrari! Don't miss this place!
Insider tip- the Pismo dining house is the best- the other locations are not so great.
This place is your traditional Italian restaurant. Excellent service, rich and hearty food, and the price fits. They are known for their huge calzones and the romantic lighting. There is nothing modern or flashy about it, but the food is very tasty and the entire dinner experience is always a positive one. It is even good for takeout if you don't want to eat in. Service is always amazing.
BT's is a locally owned fast food restaurant that serves great food. They have burgers and tacos and everything in between. They are fast and courteous and the food is fresh. Everybody I know loves this place!
This place is the best Mexican food in Visalia. They have this dressing/sauce that I put on everything they serve. It is a local favorite. Tasty, cheap, and oh so bad for you. One complaint is that they serve bagged chips. They used to serve freshly made chips and I really miss those.
This deli is great. They are fast and very nice and the sandwiches are tasty and cheap. It is located next to dairy queen- almost looks like a mini mart. Everything I have tried was fresh and delicious. Don't bring a lunch date or a client here, but if you need something good fast- this is the perfect lunch spot.
