Zahiri Hormoz MD

Dr. Hormoz Zahiri gave me my life back. Dr. Hormoz Zahiri is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who's practice includes the treatment of "complex orthopedic conditions" including the neck, back, shoulders, elbows and hands, as well as hips, knees and ankles. Just to give a little history about my case, I'm a RN who injured my low back at work over four years ago. Over the course of those years I saw numerous specialists, had every diagnostic test imaginable, had countless hours of physical therapy and was on a laundry list of medications. Oh, and did I mention I had four surgeries during that time: Anterior/posterior fusion at L5,S1; hardware removal at fusion site; and bilateral piriformis release. However, with all this I still continued to have severe low back pain that had begun to move up my back and into my neck. It wasn't until I met Dr. Hormoz Zahiri did things start to turn around. Dr. Zahiri immediately assessed the problem and went to work to fix it. Instead of doing what every other doctor had done; increase my medications, prescribe more inappropriate physical therapy or pass me off to another doctor, he tried new techniques. One of these techniques was "trigger point injections" which he has perfected. With the use of small amounts of zylocaine and cortisone, Dr. Zahiri injects the painful affected areas, resulting in decreased inflammation and pain, therefore requiring the need for less oral or other types of pain medication. Dr. Zahiri also made sure I was getting the appropriate physical therapy (Anne McArthur, PT, located in his office), which I hadn't been receiving in the past. Dr. Zahiri did for me in 4 months what other doctors couldn't do in 4 years. He has a tremendous knowledge base regarding the musculoskeletal system and the human body as a whole. He takes a whole body approach to treating his patients injuries, which I found to be very different from a lot of the other doctors I saw. I have also never met a doctor who spends more time with his patients or who genuinely cares for his patients as much as Dr. Zahiri does. I also want to take a minute to comment on his staff at the Beverly Hills office, they are absolutely wonderful. Not only are they knowledgeable and helpful, but they are always polite and cheerful. I would highly recommend Dr. Zahiri to anyone with an orthopedic injury/problem, especially those with complex orthopedic injuries or those considering surgery.
