Bosworth Rd Presbyterian Church

Bosworth Rd. Presbyterian Church, built in 1926, closed its doors
as an established residential neighborhood church after its last
worship service which included communion on Sunday, August 05,
2007. The church had existed longer, prior to the burilding of the
church. The building was in manageable condition, with recent
repairs completed, but the congregation had dwindled to to about
30 members of which sometimes only 15 came to services. Member-
ship began to dwindle after a slight surge in membership in the
1970s, and began its downward trend.

During its prosperous years the church bustled with activity until the
neighborhood began to deteriorate. Younger high school and college
graduates left the neighborhood for the suburbs, and older
members remained who stayed in the neighborhood. There were
some important commuters who kept membership. This is the story
of Cleveland neighborhoods. It is sad but inevitable until the
neighborhood might be revived as is happening to some neighbor-
hoods in the city presently.

The Cleveland Presbytery has no plans as to what will be done with
the building.
