I moved from Tn and was looking for a 'family' doctor for a family of 4 (husband,wife,2kids). I explained all that, even the ages of the kids to the receptionist on the phone. She set our appt. She set the needed papers to establish us as new patients. The day before the appt. they call to confirm the appt. I show up for the first of our 4 appts. and wait the usual 20 min. (after the time commited). THEN, a nurse decides to come out to inform me that -get this-THEY DO NOT SEE ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16!!!!!! my children are 8 and 10 the receptionist knew that when I made my first phone call! Now, tell me, why could they not call me back (two weeks ago) and explain that they made a mistake? That would have been okay and I would have been okay. But no. Instead, I was embarrassed, my children were embarrassed, and by the time I was done with my tears of frustration, the entire waiting room was angry at the doctor's office for turning me away. How can you be a 'family' practice if you don't take the whole family???
