Banfield The Pet Hospital

Akron, OH Animal Hospitals - Akron, OH Veterinarians 08/10/07: 'Fine for regular shots, but not much else'

We took a litter of kittens to them to be helped. They were from a pregnant stray we had picked up a couple of weeks earlier. Though they did not charge us for the visits, they did not help us either. Two of the kittens had died 3 days after birth.. We took the remaining 3 to Banfield to save them. We were told "Well, this happens with litters from strays, don't be upset if they all die". All they did was tell us to keep them warm and help bottle feed them. The kittens continued to die, we took them back.. they still would not help. They gave up on them just because they came from a stray. We took our remaining last kitten to metroplitan hospital in copley and they saved his life! It wasn't cheap, but I don't care about money when it comes to saving lives.

I think they should only be used for minor things like shots, ear infections, etc.. I would not take them for more serious things, they do not seem to have extensive training for real problems.

Metropolitan Veterinary Hosp

Akron, OH Animal Hospitals - Akron, OH Veterinarians 08/10/07: 'Wonderful People, Wonderful Hospital!'

These people are grade A++ professionals! I can't say enough how much I love this hospital. We had picked up a stray cat during the winter who had a litter of 5 kittens. 3 days after birth, two kittens died.. We took them to Banfield Pet Hospital.. they told us not to be sad because that happens with strays (not what I wanted to hear).. the next day 1 more died. We took the remaining two back to Banfield and they still would not help us, just told us to keep them warm and bottle feed them (momma had given up on them). When we got home, one more died. We took the remaining baby to Akron Veterinary hospital. They offered no help either.

I cried for hours over the last tiny kitten and finally decided to take him to Metropolitan because it had become late. It's like $85 just to get in the door and be seen. But to me, it was worth it. They try everything they can for the animal. By the time we took little domino he was so weak he just layed limply in your hand. A couple hours after being treated (finally someone actually treated him!) he was gaining strength. 5 months later he's a healthy little guy. We are soo grateful to them.
