I thought that I might add a review for an underrated practice that provides outstanding service for all economic backgrounds. I have been to alot of practices in Pasadena due to the changes in my health insurance, and have only great things to say about the Crown City atmosphere. The vet next door is one of four doctors on the property and she is an amazing mind like her siblings. My wife sees the family practice Dr. Tyson, I see the internal medicinist Dr. Tyson, and my dog sees the veterinarian Dr. Tyson. I hear there is a fourth Dr. Tyson that provides rehabilitation medicine... we don't have any need for that right now, but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to see her!! These young and progressive doctors are changing the face of medicine. Go in, try them out, and don't mind the wait... they are worth it! When have you ever been to doctor's office and been the first in and first out?? I remember... before we socialized medicine and only paid in cash!!
I took my dog to two out of three highly rated clinics from this site and was sadlly dissappointed to be sent home with a terminal diagnosis of renal failure of unknown origin from both establishments. A friend suggested that I take Sadie to Dr. Tyson at Crown City Vet Med. I was greeted by friendly people and found a waiting room full of different species and content pet owners. After my preliminary exam with the technical staff, Dr. Tyson greeted Sadie and I. She listened to my concerns and then reviewed the chart that I travel with. She explained that she intends on following a protocol that she applys to all clients and that I might have a bit of a wait due to the nature of Sadie's problems. Dr. Tyson has been the only veterinarian to thoroughly examine my pet, her bloodwork, and history. After a couple of tests and a long conversation of possible disease processes, Dr. Tyson diagnosed Sadie in three days. Since the correct diagnosis, her injections have almost corrected the renal problem and she is getting back to her old self. I found it hard to believe that an eight year old dog would have no hope or quality of life left due to kidney damage... but inspite of the accurate diagnosis, Dr. Tyson offered me additional supportive therapies that would have allowed for us to be together for a little longer. To my surprise she hopefully will be around for the natural length of her life. I am writing this review in order to emphasize to others that the internet can be misleading. I believed what others had written and steered away from Crown City... what a mistake I made that almost cost me my dog's life. I think that the negative reviews were made from hasty attempts at bandaiding an animal's sickness in order to save money and time. I really love and appreciate my friends/ pets. I think that Dr. Tyson also loves and appreciates pets. If you don't believe me then just go in and ask any of the staff what kind of creatures share their lives with them. You will be amazed at the managerie of friends that Dr. Tyson has around her at all times, and the staff shares the same interest. I would be without my dearest friend if it were not for Dr. Melissa Tyson. Dr. T, I wish there were more than four of you!!
