Plaza Iii Steakhouse
The food is delicious. The jumbo shrimp appetizer is offered in your choice of three different sauces. You have lots of choices on the potatoes too. This restaurant gives you more choices than most. The steaks are wonderful. Serving portions are good. You can add a lobster tail to your entree and split it with someone. You wouldn't be able to eat it all plus your steak. The restaurant ambience is nice. Service is excellent. They have live music on weekend nights. This is one of the few restaurants that handles LARGE groups efficiently.
Arthur Bryant's Barbeque
Arthur Bryant's BBQ is the most frequent recommendation when someone wants barbecue. I thought it was good, but over-rated. You order at the counter like at a fast food place, then sit at drab tables in a room of boring decor. If you are a BBQ fan and just want to eat lunch and go you won't mind. They pile it on high. You don't leave hungry.
City In Motion Dance Theater
City In Motion is a not for profit org. That doesn't mean all the lessons are free, but the prices are reasonable and they have scholarships for underprivileged kids. Classes and workshops offer more variety of styles than most dance studios. These include modern dance, ballet, jazz, African, belly dance, Latin, swing, tap, flamenco, hula, polynesian, Indian, healing, and burlesque. They even have self defense classes. The instructors are very qualified and accomplished dancers.
Pole Worx
My friends talked me into dance lessons at Pole Worx. They have belly dancing classes and pole dancing classes. One might turn their nose up at the words pole dancing, but this is a womens only facilty. The dance classes are a strenuous workout. The pole dancing can come in handy when you want your husband to see that you have a few sexy moves.
Retro Inferno
Retro Inferno furniture store is yes, retro, and has some items that are downright weird, but also has some very nice modern looking pieces from Italy and Denmark. Visiting this furniture and lighting store is as much fun as going to a museum.
My Bath
Gosh.. where to start? This is like a bathroom amusement park. The Rainforest whirlpool steam shower is a girl's dream. You can relax with the warm water jets and not get out until your skin is all water wrinkled. It has underwater lights, music, television, and telephone speaker. You can enjoy the aromatherapy steam shower and various water massage features. My Bath store has modern vanity sink sets in all colors. I like the clean modern look. If you are not planning to remodel your bathroom and come in here just because.. you will soon will be.
Rockhill Tennis Club
Deon is the best tennis instructor at Rockhill. It is a pleasure to walk the grounds of the Rockhill Tennis Club. The beautiful mansion is used for banquets and meetings by many organizations. It hosts plenty of weddings and receptions too. The food is delicious here. You can have served dinners or buffets.
Gladstone Computer Services
My computer was more and more slow each time I used it. Gladstone Computer Services get it running better than ever. They also did some upgrades and added software that I needed. I just told them what uses I desired and they were very helpful. They didn't charge near as much as some other companies.
Overhead Door Company Of Kansas City
I picked up garage door brochures at a home and garden show that showed a variety of styles in different colors to fit the style and color of your home. The sales guy was informative about how much better the doors and controls are now compared to 20 years ago. I plan to have mine replaced eventually.
Hereford House
My group likes to hang out at Hereford house (pierpont at union station) for happy hour and dinner. It is roomy, ambience relaxed. It has won many awards including best restaurant, best seafood, best shot drink, best architectural environment, and wine spectators award.
