I am a doctor at Smoky Hill Veterinary Clinic.
I would enecourage any client who has a preference as to which doctor they see with their pets to let the technicians know when making your appointment. They will be happy to make sure you see the doctor of your choice.
We have had some staff turnover in the last few years, but unfortunately that's a part of veterinary medicine. If you went into any vet clinic in the city and asked if they had any doctors there who had worked there 10 years or more, and were not an owner or partner, you'd find very few.
The way this business generally works is that you start out of school working for a clinic owner. You work for them for generally 3-5 years until you feel comfortable, then you strike out on your own. Start your own business, or partner with someone.
So unfortunately we often lose the doctors we've had the longest and value the most.
We'd be happy to discuss any of our former staff if you would only ask.
As for getting more expensive, we raise our prices about once a year to keep up with inflation just like the grocery store, the department store, and every other business in America.
With regard to a case that did not go well please keep us in the loop. The only way for any doctor to learn about a difficult case is to remain informed as to what the outcome was.
