I have mixed feelings about Popeis. We arrived and the hostess did not greet us. The restaurant was fairly empty and she sat us next to a table with several young children who were rather noisy. We looked at the table and asked politely to be reseated. She proceeded to reseat us to a table that was still next to this child filled table. Again, we asked if we could sit a bit further away, so our meal could be enjoyed in peace. She gave us an attitude and proceeded to comment about us to the waitresses standing within earshot. If I had a chance to relive this moment, I would have left the restaurant because of this. It was completely rude and uncalled for considering the restaurant was empty--I did not think we were asking for too much to be seated at a quieter table in the restaurant. The server was wonderful...he was extremely friendly and very helpful answering any and all of the questions we had. We happened to be there on the endless shrimp night and the food was delicious! We finished our meal and left...with no thank you or goodbye from the hostess (surprise surprise). I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO POPEIS for the sole fact that I am insulted and shocked at the treatment we received from this hostess. Maybe she was having a bad day, but that doesn't mean that we deserve to get it taken out on us. I wish I had had a better experience because the food was great, I just refuse to support a local business that treats its customers in such a manner.
