I had a root canal done here. The next 4 days were the worst of my life, excruciating pain with an expensive visit to the emergency room for a big time pain killer. The infection got so bad that it abscessed and pushed rotten pieces of bone through my gums for the next 6 weeks. I brought in fragments and the doc said he didn't know what they were (a later dentist confirmed they were bone fragments). Next, they used a fancy shmancy camera to take pictures of all my teeth and gums. The final verdict..they recommended extensive dental work for every little spot that added up to nearly 4 grand. I have visited the dentist (the one I had for 20 years before I moved to COS) every 6 months for the past 20 years and have never been told I need this work.Last, I went in to have a filling replaced which they said needed to be replaced. After it was refilled, the dentist was checking the contact when his assistant told me "bite harder." I did and "crack" the filling broke. He tried refilling and, crack, the same results. The assistant then told me "you bite too hard." Hmm, after she told me to bite harder. The doctor then informed that I needed a crown. So this $50 filling was now a $600 crown (with insurance). To ice this crap cake, when the assistant asked the dentist "will there be a charge for this?" the dentist replied "let's call it a build up." Well folks, a build up is over a $100. My previous dentist wouldn't have charged me a dime for a filling that broke in the chair. Oh, not over yet, I left this dentist and had my crown done at another dentist. He had to do a build up before he did the crown, but was nice enough to comp it because this clown charged me for one, but didn't really do it.
I dined there once with my father while visiting La Junta. First, the bartender was friendly and poored well. Next, the wait staff was efficient and competent. Everybody seemed to enjoy working there, a good sign of effective management. Most importantly: the food. All around fantastic! The best ribs I've ever had (besides my own). These were cooked properly; seasoned and slow cooked. Not boiled and then buried in cheap BBQ sauce. Oh, and DON'T pass on the pies. Made like Granny used to. Last, a very fair check at the end of the evening. Dont miss this place if in La Junta.
