I've always loved Dollywood- since the early days of Silver Dollar City. This is such a nice place to visit in the Mountains. There is something there for all ages. Dollywood just has an unexplained feel to it that I love. They have music, arts and crafts, live shows, excellent food and rides.
The Birmingham Zoo is a nice way to spend an afternoon with the family. They have lots of exhibits as well as other things to do and see. You can eat there or take a picnic. The gift shop is always fun to go through too.
The Dixie Stampede is a great place to visit if you are in the Smokey Mountains. The entire concept is unique. The food is excellent, with large portions. The show is interactive and fun for all ages. As with most tourist attractions, it is expensive. However, it's fun and entertaining.
The Marina is a great little place to eat for lunch. The hard part is finding them. The location is not that great and I would be scared to go there at night. The food is really good. Pretty limited menu items. No frills. Prices are reasonable. Service can be slow at times.
Lek's is a unique restaurant with a variety of dishes. The service can be slow, but they are very nice and friendly. The prices are reasonable. The Pineapple dessert is wonderful.
Chris' Hot Dogs is a good place to eat if you can get past the building itself and the slow service. They are known for their hot dogs, but the other food is also good. The building is horrible. Parking can be tough too. If you are concerned about germs and health ratings, I would probably skip.
The Brew Pub is a very convenient place to eat if you are downtown. The service is good and quick. The prices are reasonable. It's a good place to have a business lunch. The salads are large. Parking is not the best, so be prepared to walk or get there before the lunch crowd. They have specials Tuesday- Friday, but often run out of them early.
Nancy Patterson's is a wonderful place to eat. I've been there several times and have never been disappointed. They have a good selection of light, unique dishes. The strawberry cake is a must. The new location is very nice and roomy, but still get there early to avoid the rush.
Chappy's is a great place to eat for the entire family. They have a wonderful selection with several unique items. The service has always been good and friendly. The prices are reasonable. Kids eat free, which is very nice.
Nothing beats Corsino's food. I've never had a bad meal there. Parking is very limited. Service can be slow on busy days. The building is old and in need of some repairs- inside and outside. The prices are reasonable and the staff is hurried, but friendly.
