We have taken our dogs to the country clipper every year to be groomed. the dogs don't seem to mind going and always come out looking great. They have been very helpful in suggesting what cut would be best for our dogs and have suggested a flea control that was easy to apply.
It was well worth the drive up to Hartland to this marvelous restaurant! It used to be the Coach "N Four. It has since changed hands and now offers a variety of dishes, but the chef is Italian and the Italian meals are authentic and outstanding. The restaurant is an old inn dating back several centuries. The exposed beams, wide plank floors, and huge fireplaces add to the charm of this dining experience. The prices were not outrageous for such a nice meal. Drinks were expensive, but a bottle of wine for the table was reasonable. DSave room, because desserts are not to be missed1 Highly recommended!
Despite the name, this is actually a great lobster pound! A very informal setting, you give your order right at the lobster tanks, then go into a screened-in picnic area and sit at large picnic tables while you wait for your lobsters to cook. The meal comes with corn on the cob, cole claw, a roll, and a drink and is reasonably priced depending on the price of lobster per pound. A great place to go with the whole family, no ocean view, but the prices are better and who needs the view if you are elbow-deep in fresh Maine lobster??
Andy's has a very nice selection of finished and unfinished furniture, mostly oak, but some pine and other hard wood, too. They also have a quaint showroom crammed full with country art, knick knacks, and collectibles. We purchased a kitchen table and chairs from them and the quality has held up well even with a house full of boys!
This is a small, but very good Thai restaurant on Main St in downtown Greenfield. The portions are huge, in fact my parents shared a meal and still had plenty to take home. The service is fast and the atmosphere pleasant. Every entree we've had was delicious and was freshly prepared. Prices are very reasonable.
Ken's is a small, but nice shop for choosing a new pair of glasses. You can make an appointment there to have your eyes checked by an optometrists if you need a new prescription. Their selection is not huge, but what they have is up to date. They often have a buy 1/get another free deal.
If you are looking for a great place to hold winter indoor lacrosse or soccer practices, Sports World is just the place. They have three large playing fields, provide refs, and have a snack bar for after the game. You must sign up as a team and they do the scheduling with the other teams. There are bleachers for spectators; it can be a little chilly if you are just sitting, so bring a coat.Convenient location just off I91.
