We love the vets here! Compassionate & knowledgeable vets, prices fair, friendly vet techs and receptionist.
We had my shower here. As a medical professional, I expect professional service which we did NOT receive. Pasta Cucina tried to rip off of my mother and mother-in-law- not wanting to give them the full space promised, "forgetting" to put out the champagne they paid for, and "forgetting" to give us potatoes also paid for in the contract.
On top of it all, the manager then tried to insist my mom/mom-in-law had a 40 person minimum NOT the 30 person minimum they'd agreed to. This on top of the fact 27 had only shown so the restaraunt was paid for 3 unused meals as it was! My fiance showed up at the end and had to get involved... made sure the staff was tipped well despite the manager's UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior.
Inexcusable! The manager 's actions ruined my shower for my mom/mother-in-law and tainted the day for me as well.
AVOID THIS RESTARAUNT AT ALL COSTS IF YOU ARE HOSTING ANY SORT OF LARGE DINNER OR EVENT!!!
Food was good, service satisfactory. Not anything noteable or to write home about but good enough for a weeknight meal.
I went here a few years ago, but the experience still lingers in my mind. They jacked up the bill 4x what they estimated, and x-rayed my kitten 3 times in the 6 days they had him for a upper respiratory tract infection. So much radiation for such a little guy and totally unnecessary! Also, the receptionists are rude both here and at their affiliate office- Central Veterinary Associates in Valley Stream. They won't let you visit your pet even if he is there for a week.
Also, they lied to me about the credit card they had me open to pay for it all, telling me I'd have 12 mos to pay it off w/o interest. When the bill arrived it was 6 mos, and if you didn't pay it all off within that time they'd charge you 24% interest on the entire original balance (and NOT the remaining balance). When I called and politely asked about this the receptionist was insanely rude, and I vowed never to take my pets there again. A shame, because the one vet seemed nice at the time...
For starters, this place claims it's a brewery/pub, but has a pretty limited common selection, with no written list. It's only been there about 2yrs. Our waitress took forever to come by, then about 15 mins to bring us our draft beers (the place was NOT crowded and she wasn't the only server). Service improved somewhat after that- but we had to flag her down after the food arrived to repeat simple requests we'd put in with the order.
The food: servings were large, but the burgers were far from tasty (mediocre at best), and had an odd taste to them. Prices: about what you'd expect from a pub but the quality of food/service wasn't worth even that.
The girl I had flew threw my haircut with a record speed that set my nerves on edge- cutting 7" off a large chunk of hair even though I'd told her 2" tops (so by then I had to let her do the same to the rest). Then she proceeded to cut around my face- even though I had told her I just wanted the existing two layers trimmed, NEITHER of which framed my face. She announced she was finished after maybe 10mins (I have tons of hair and it's always taken about 25mins). Bewildered, I asked her politely about the second layer, to which she replied, "What layer?" (This layer had pretty much disappeared when she cut the bottom one 7") .She then huffed and scowled as she rapidly "trimmed" this layer. Later, I found multiple chunks of hair that she had missed, and which all hung down 7". I regret tipping her even the 15% I did- everyone has a bad day, but do NOT take it out on the customer!
Perhaps other hairdressers there abr better, but if this is their idea of quality control, I'm not chancing it.
The food was mediocre and overpriced. The ranch salad dressing was so watered down you could barely taste any flavor! Also, the mixed drinks were pricey and weak. And, they add in a mandatory 18% gratuity, so your server doesn't have to work hard, and KNOWS it. Avoid eating here at all costs!
The comedy, on the other hand, was enjoyable, and warrants increasing the rating from 2 to 3 stars/5.
The guy said I needed a new battery. So I paid $78, then had to have it jump started less than a week later (2x). So I took it to a different place, who told me that not only was the battery OLD, but it was "as good as dirt". Also, he said it didn't even look anywhere new. Translation: The guy at North Shore saw a young woman with out of state plates and must have figured I'd be back in PA by the time I figured things out. Newsflash: I live in NY, and I got the second guy to put in writing that the battery North Shore sold me was old and useless.
