Suffield House
This is a great nursing home that accepts both private pay and medicare/medicaid for nursing home and rehab patients. The facility is beautiful and state of the art. There are lots of activities for the residents and very attentive staff. I would certainly recommend placing a loved one here and feel comfortable knowing they are in good hands.
Frigo Gourmet Foods Catering
Very busy little take out place located in downtown Springfield. For decent prices you can get real food, not just sandwiches. However, I give this a three star because they often run out of featured items and even if you place an order they may be out of it by the time you pick it up, leaving you with having to make another choice during the hectic lunch rush.
Hu Ke Lau Restaurant
While the decor hasn't changed in years, you always know what to expect here. You get tons of very flavorful food. Service is quick, staff is polite, prices are good, and the restaurant can accomodate parties of 2 or 50. Eat in or take out.
Country Flowers & Gift Shop
My family and I use this florist exclusively. The arrangements are always beautiful and full, and made with the freshest flowers. Delivery is prompt, and you can feel comfortable just calling and placing your order knowing that the arrangement will be perfect. Inside the store is packed with gifts and ideas at reasonable prices. The staff will make recommendations if your not sure what you want, and will make you an arrangement right there on the spot. I highly recommend it.
Agawam Animal Hospital
We began using this vet after a referral from a family member. The Doctor is super nice and really cares about the animals, taking the time necessary to deal with medical issues in a way people can understand. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. The prices are very good. I recommend it.
Cape Neddick Lobster Pound
You don't get to pick out your own lobster here, but it is situated right on an inlet so the view of the boats and water is nice. The decor is also nice and the staff is friendly. The food could be a little bit better, but it's a nice experience and dinner with the family.
Shear Techniques
I have been getting my hair done here for years. You can make appointments far in advance and the prices are very good. They also cut children's hair. The staff is very nice, makes you feel welcome, and have a real sense of family amongst them. Great family place.
Ogunquit Lobster Pound Restaurant
My husband loves the lobster here. You get to pick out your lobster from a big tank, and the staff gives you a ticket with the time it will be ready. You can bet your lobster will be on the table at exactly that time! I'm not a seafood lover, however, so the rest of the menu leaves some to be desired. Would have been a four star but for the non seafood menu.
The Milestone
My family stayed here a few years ago. While it was very close to Footbridge Beach, the accomodations need updating and the room was not that clean. Your better bet is to stay at it's sister hotel, Juniper Hill, for about $15 more. It's a lot nicer and closer to town.
Juniper Hill Inn
This is a nice hotel in easy walking distance to the center of town and area restaurants. The rooms are spacious. It's your typical hotel with pool. Rates are on the high side but competitive.
