Guaymas Mexican Restaurant
"Quick Fix for Tex Mex. So depending on what you order the food is avg to above average. I have tried their chicken chipolte and the chicken con crema and coming from Texas i really enjoyed it. The Beans are good but the rice is so so. The chips are good and the salsa is good but each time I have gone it is slightly different. We have also had the tortilla soup which was again good but not amazing. Since it is close to where I live I have no problem going back for a quick fix. The chain Mexican food place is closer but I think the food is better here. The service is good and the atmosphere is just OK. If you are looking for truly authentic Mexican atmosphere this place is not it. If you want a good meal at a fair price and something close and quick then you should give it a try. The only thing I do not like is that they only make homemade tortillas on the weekend so during the week your stuck with the playdough version of a flour tortilla"
Taki's Mad Greek
OK after researching many Greek restaurants I decided to try this one. The reviews were on target. We started the Saganki and Hummus both were excellent but for the price there could have been a little more hummus and at least one more pita. OK now for the main meals. We ordered the Gyro, Avgolemono Soup, Chicken Souvlaki and Lamb Souvlaki. Each was excellent and there was more than enough food on the plate. The only draw back is that the they used dill a little to much, but this was the only con I came across. The service was good but we did go during the off peak time so it may or may not be the same during rush hour. They were very pleasant and check on our status with out overdoing it. I would recommend it to my friends and take any out of town guest there. I plan to go back on a Saturday night to see how it is with the live music.
Lowell's Restaurant
Since we have only lived in Seattle for 8 months we are still exploring the many places to eat. My in-laws were in town so we decided to explore the Pikes place market area. One of the shop owner suggested we try the Lowell's. I was a bt hesitate at first just because I thought it was just another tourist restaurant rather than some place locals would go to. To my surprise the food was very good. I ordered the fish and chips and it was one of the better fish and chips I had. The batter was light but crunchy and the fish was flaky and not mushy. My main test is the does it smell like fish and it did not. My wife also enjoyed it and she is not a fish eater. My in-laws food was also tasty. The service was fair but the staff was very pleasant. The only minus is that seating is difficult to get during peak periods and if you are lucky you can get a window seat with a nice. Overall the dinning experience was worth it. I would bring friends and family who had not tried this place.
