You would ride past this small restaurant if you weren't too careful. But once you got in, you would be drawn to the smell of Caribbean seasonings sure to make your mouth water. The dim lighting shouldn't turn you off totally so if you stay make sure you order the jerk or curry chicken platter with a nice helping of beans & rice and stir fried cabbage. On your way out try to banana punch that's sure to complete the total experience at this little place.
Pros: Good platters with nice helpings and reasonable prices
This place does not have the feel of your traditional Chinese restaurant. It is cozy, very quiet and the service is not slow at all. The food is quite good, especially what's from their Japanese menu. They have a private room for parties of 20-30 people, something I will definitely look into for a dinner party in the future. This is one of Lansdowne's best kept secrets.
My children absolutely LOVE this place! It's spacier, has more attractions and their food is much better than CC. The staff were full of young teens but they were cool. The packages they have are very reasonable for a family as large as mine and they had a parent's area where we could just relax while the children played. The rides/attractions were operated and due to the fact that it was not as crowded the children got some freebies.
This beats a rainy day at home any day.
Best hoagies I've tasted in the Philadelphia area. You can make another sandwich out of the one you buy for yourself. If you have a large number of people to feed, I would go with ordering hoagies from them. They're filling and the service is fast too!
I was referred to Judy by one of my companions. Judy is very patient, her office is just quaint enough for her and you so there's no need to feel embarrassed when talking with her. There's a good chance you will be the only one there during your visit. Although her clientele is big and she has a revolving door of patients, she takes her time to get to know you, what you want and how you feel about your pregnancy, your body, and your baby. Sometimes she can be a bit eccentric but she's been in this business a long time and has encountered many women in her lifetime. The best thing about her is that if you don't have insurance her payments are low enough for you to have several visits with her, pre and post , deliver and she takes the payments in installments. For many women from my community this is an added bonus if you don't have insurance. So please the next time you want a person who will care about you & your baby, go to Judy.
Food is not top rated anymore. They are growing by the second and it seems their food is not what it used to be. The beef patties, taste like mush inside and their curry chicken, too many bones. I would go back to my roots if I were them and cook for the love of it, not for the money or fame of owning a franchise.
Throw away your entemman's boxes and come to Upper Darby to taste their baked goods. Their coffee cake is really delicious, thick and crusty but very moist. Not at all dry like you would expect. they have coffee WITH FLAVORED CREAMER, which most family owned businesses won't. So this was a biggie for me. Their service is nice no matter who is serving you they always make small talk with their customers. They do wedding cakes and more as well, but if you're ever in the area and your sweet tooth is aching, calm it with one of their slices of cake.
I just ate here today for like the 5th time this year. They have a small area inside and out to sit and eat. Their food is above the chain caribbean food (you know which one) because it tastes like it was actually made with love and care. But I can't speak for the staff! Never a smile on their faces, seems depressed or just unhappy. I would go there more often if I didn't come out feeling like I was going to cry myself.
Nice service, fast talkers, watch your money with them!
The original main mechanic left to go home for a while (I think
Japan or China) and left his cousin in charge. Well his cousin is known for giving you a list of problems that's wrong with your car EVERY TIME you go in. Go figure! Just keep your ears and eyes out when you take your car to them.
Their salads are really good with crisp lettuce and fresh ingredients. I was a bit upset that they couldn't work with me to substitute onion rings for french fries. I even suggested they charge $.50 more! This was the first place I'd ever encountered this with. Good thing I wasn't that hungry otherwise I may have starved to death!
