My mother went to this hospital three times prior to her last hospital stop. It all started last year when my mom got sick with pneumonia. She stayed at Hubbard Hospital for around a week and got sent home. This happened two more times, spreading the stays at the hospital from 3 to 6 months.
Now, her last visit was in the past 3 weeks from today when she said it was hard to breathe. She again, told us to go to Hubbard. See, she always went to Hubbard because she said it would make it easier for all her kids to visit her if she was around the corner. This of course, was a bad idea on her part.
At Hubbard, they treated her for the same things she was there for in the past (pneumonia). This time though, they drugged her up on Zanex and it made her react like she was mentally disabled. She would see me, and then when I would leave. She would ask when im coming up there because she misses me to whoever was there. This could be 5 minutes later. A week after going there, she went home for a day. The next morning as the drugs started to wear off, she was in pain again.
Hubbard never hooked her to an ekg or gave an mri. She was 63yrs old and has enphasyma, broncitis and asthma. This should have been their first things to do, but didn't.
That morning she said call an ambulance. We told the people to bring her to UMass and off they went.
At Umass, the first thing was ekg. Within an hour they knew everything. they also found that she has been suffering with a heart attack for the last few days. This of course was happening when she was at Hubbard. (They (Hubbard) didn't know because they never gave her an ekg and had her drugged up so much, she couldn't tell anyone anyway. They had her drugged up so much that her own doctor went to see her there and thought they were giving her morphine and said they should lower it. He now knew it wasn't morphine, it was Zanex and should not be that high of dose.)
By the next day at UMass, the doctors said. She has been through to much and there was to much damage to her heart for surgery. Because the enphasyma, she would not make it through surgery either without getting a tube down the throat that would never come out. This was all 50-50 of course if she even lived through it.
We gave her her wishes and gave her morphine and she slowly past away for 3 days.
If she never went to Hubbard that day. She would still be alive today. They misdiagnosed her and all the kids are setting up for a major law suit on this hospital (Hubbard).
Hubbard's report says, it was all on her lungs and gave the same results from the past visits. UMass gave another report and has nothing to do with it. Hubbard said she had no options and UMass said she had three. But, since it took to long on Hubbards part, she now had only one and was not a good idea either.
If you are not feeling right, avoid this hospital. Most nurses and doctors there have no idea what they are doing. If they do, they don't care anyway!
Anytime I go into Kmart and happen to use their men's bathroom I notice the trash bins are always overflowed with paper towels and garbage. Most toilets have (#2) in them and are sometimes clogged. I asked my girlfriend if the women's bathroom was like this and she said it was. I also have noticed almost all the time I go into the store they have buckets catching the ceilings water leaks. That problem is ongoing and I really don't think they are trying to fix it.
Pete runs an excellent garage. No bull ever when I needed to know something or get something fixed. Pete usually finds you a price better than other garages in Webster. I'm not saying he will do this every time. I personally think he's your best shot when it comes to tires and oil at a lower price. I have bought two all season tires off of him and he took my old tires off and put on the new ones for $120. Spinning them was included also. New tires, changing the set and spinning for 120. You cannot beat that price. Everywhere else here in Webster wanted $110.00 just for the two tires.
My old 1987 Plymouth Voyager started leaking oil alot. I was putting 1 1/2 to 2 quarts in every day. This needed to be fixed fast since I live in Webster, Ma and work in Southboro, Ma. I went every where else in Webster and this was the cheapest around. They told me the will charge $450.00 to fix the leak. The price was because they said they couldn't fix the leak without taking out the engine because of the style of the van. I looked my vehicle over under the hood to remember what pieces and parts looked like before I said yes. My girlfriend stopped by there and noticed they only had one of the wheels off in front. They said she couldn't stay back there, so they went up front to talk. She called them on it and they said that was already done. She came home and told me. Liars, noway they did all that in under an hour and a half. She went to pick up the van and when she got home, I noticed a drip of oil come from the bottom. They told her that will do that for a few miles and stop. All mechanics I asked about that last statement said you will not get one drip and that they probably used Stop Leak. I went back there and questioned them and their response was get out of here or I will call the police. I stayed yelling at him, but he went inside and had co workers stay by the door. Cops never came though, I wonder why. I checked tape that should have been removed while taking out the engine and it was never touched. I have also witnessed others yelling at him for things not being fixed but charged anyway and saying it was fixed.
