I could not recommend Dr. MacCardell more highly. She is a gifted therapist who works with both adults and children. She has insight and professionalism far beyond what one might expect in a psychologist in a small town practice. Dr. MacCardell, in addition to having a Ph.D. in Psychology also has a Master's Degree in Psychopharmacology and is very knowledgeable about medication. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a top-notch therapist.
I have been going to Dr. Hacker for more than 30 years. He is only available a few days a week now but I have been very happy with his excellent care for all that time. I feel as if I have grown up with him in a sense. He has always been caring, sensitive, and willing to listen. I also have to mention his office staff. Sandy in the office and Mary the nurse are top-notch - friendly and helpful. I wish Dr. Hacker would never retire but I am planning to someday so I guess he deserves to also.
If you want a wonderful day/evening full of constant laughs, make sure that you go and hear Loretta LaRoche sometime. She is absolutely hysterical. I don't think I ever had so many positive endorphins flowing as the time I saw her at the Plymouth Public Library. This gifted lady is full of humor and common sense. Truly a gift!
I broke my ankle several years ago, a really bad break (I was in a plaster cast from hip to toe for 8 months). Dr. Krebs did surgery to put in pins and screws and later did follow-up surgery to remove them. In spite of the fact that I was told I would eventually have arthritis in my ankle, I have never had a moment's problem with my ankle. I can walk easily and confidently. I would not hesitate to go to Dr. Krebs again but hope that I never have to.
I have lived in Rockland a while but am just starting to try some of the local businesses and am realizing how much I have been missing. I wandered into the Union Street Deli after visiting the library and found another Rockland gem. You dine in or take food out. Owner Jim Stranahan is very friendly and makes you feel really good that you stopped by. The menu is varied and wonderful from delicious soups (he had sold out of the mushroom today but I'm going to come back for it) as well as salads, specialty sandwiches and numerous hot meals. I brought home a chicken pot pie and a raisin spice cookie. Jim told me he makes most of his food from scratch. The chicken pot pie would have easily been enough for two if they also got a salad. It was filled with a huge amount of white breast chicken chunks and baby carrots in a delicious cream sauce. I enjoyed my raisin spice cookie with coffee after dinner and it was dense and yummy. Union Street Deli also has a catering menu which is extensive and reasonably priced. I definitely plan to order some food for a Christmas get-together I am having. Maybe a half sheet of chicken, broccoli, and ziti ($50) and a cheese tray (price varies). Jim also showed me his own line of marinades and sauces which are available for purchase. A few of these in a basket will make a great little gift for my son who loves his food smothered in sauce of any kind. One thing that really impressed me about this local business is the obvious attention to cleanliness. As a clean freak, I appreciate a deli that makes me feel very happy that their standards are up to mine.
