A conveniently located surf shop directly across the street from Long Sands. The shop has everything you need for surfing from wet suits to board wax. The staff is young but very knowledgeable.
I called this company after hearing some noises in our attic. They came right out and within 3 days they had solved the problem. It turned out that we had red squirrels in the crawl space. They set traps and promptly got rid of them
This is a full service fish market carrying a good selection of fresh caught fish and shellfish. They also have an adequate beer and wine selection. The place looks spotless and doesn't have that "old fish" smell that many fish markets have.
This place has the finest selection of fesh and salt water hand made fly rods that I've ever seen. The staff will also set you up with a fishing guide for either fresh or salt water trips. We had one of our best days for stripers as a result of a referral from this shop.
This place specializes in serving clam bakes to bus trips. They have the routine down to a science as the bus trip I was on were in and out of the place in 90 minutes. The atmosphere is very business like with the goal of getting everybody fed and out the door and back in the bus!
If your in need of some larger than usual lobsters in the 4-5 pound range...this is the place to get them. We purchased several 5 pounders from this market last year. I'm not sure if they will cook them for you ...as we were taking them back home.
This bakery makes some of the best bagels I've ever eaten. They bake them fresh daily and also serve a wide variety of coffees. They are famous for their breakfast sandwiches . They also have muffins and a nice outside eating area in front of the store.
This place is a family operated business where you pick out your lobster and they cook it for you while you wait. They also have clams. The prices are similar to what you pay in any of the Maine fish markets. It is a quick, convenient, no mess place to get lobsters
This market has been a Short Sands landmark for decades. It has everything from beer and wine to sandwiches and sand pails. They have a decent menu and the food is typical take out with grinders, dogs, soup, salads.
This is the kind of market that you stop for those items that you forgot at Hannafords. It carries all the staples in addition to a few fresh veggies and some beer and wine.
