We stopped in at Aspen East during the Christmas holiday shopping season. Their inventory was surprisingly low for ski wear. A fair amount of boarder clothing though. I found the prices to be quite high and the exchange policy hard to work with especially since we were looking to purchase gift items. I can't say as I would send someone here.
Gilmore Home Center has a very good inventory of quality proucts. They are the mini home depot! Instead of vast aisles of product, you will find a much friendlier atmosphere here. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful. Prices are extremely reasonable. We were able to find just what we needed and didn't have a long wait, were able to get in and out and back to our project.
When I walked into Poultney Village Furniture, I felt like I was walking into my grandmother's house. This quaint little shop has some cute pieces, but for the most part the furniture is very dated. The old gentleman that waited on us was very chatty. He knew what he was talking about when he spoke of the construction of the pieces. However, we were not able to make a purchase here. I suppose if you want to go retro, this might be a place to stop.
Mill River Lumber is the place to go locally for your mulch needs. This lumber yard has tons of different quality and color mulches. Just drive up in your pick up or trailer and load up. Great prices.
Otter Valley Supply is the local feed and seed store. A multitude of products for the weekend gardner too. I have purchased annuals from this business and been very satisfied with the plants. The owner is an old time Vermonter and has some great stories to tell. Makes the trip over here worth the drive.
We were looking for new family room furniture and stopped in at this store on recommendation. We did find a good deal of nice pieces on display. However, I was very turned off by the sales staff. They were quite pushy and when asked about ordering an item in another fabric pattern, they were not very helpful. It seemed like they just wanted to get rid of the inventory on hand. Also, weren't able to really browse the store, felt like we were being watched at all times. Needless to say, we didn't purchase here.
As the name implies this busines deals in lighting and lighting fixtures. When we were looking for a new ceiling fixture, we stopped in here. Although didn't find just what we were looking for, we did see some very nice products. The sales staff was very helpful and even suggested where we might find the type of fixture we were seeking. You can also get parts here too.
Perfumania carries a large selection of fragrances. Some designer and some kock offs. Be prepared to have your senses tingeled when you walk in! And, be careful of the wild spray as people try on the perfume samples!! Nice place, good prices. If you can't find something you like here, they it probably doesn't exist.
I have purchased my daughter's pointe shoes through this company for sometime. I was a real rookie when I was first looking for the right shoe for her. This company was highly recommended by a dance teacher. I made a phone call and found the customer service personnel to be extremely helpful, from sizing to explaining the different shanks etc. We were able to get a great fit (her instructor made sure of it) without too much trouble...only one exchange. From that point on we were sold on the product and over the years made many more purchases. They may cost slightly more than other pointe shoes, but my daughter says the comfort is well worth it.
We have bought a number of items at direct sports over the years. The customer service reps are very helpful with sizes. The shipping is usually reasonable as are the prices of the merchandise. We were able to find sliding shorts for softball here when we couldn't get them anywhere else locally....carry a number of colors.
