Our family stayed here for three nights. The rooms were very large--divided into two separate areas, one for each queen sized bed, with a bathroom and doors in between, so it was almost like having two rooms for the price of one.
Very clean, which is a must for me. Food was good in the restaurant. The pool was not open long enough at night.
We visit Bob's Haven Deli every time we are in the Phoenixville area which is at least twice a year. The menu is large. The food is good. It's not too attractive from the outside but the inside is clean. I wish they had some indoor seating. There's one girl there, Tricia, who we love to have wait on us. She's extra pleasant.
When my mother in law turned 65, I wanted to do something outrageous and fun but we live so far away! What to do? I found Just for Fun Rentals online and they put 65 miniature cow lawn ornaments on her front lawn the day she turned 65,waiting for her when she left the house, with a sign displaying our personalized greeting. They worked with me to be sure it went off perfectly and though I was not able to check up on them, my southern family reports that it went off without a hitch. Very good service!!
When in Lakeland we try always to take the time for a relaxing Italian dinner at Mario's. My non-Italian in-laws could not wait to show this place off to their very Italian daughter-in-law. They were sure I would love it and they were right. The veal parmigiano was terrific. It was the real deal with succulent sauce. The atmosphere is very special-deceiving from a drive-by. It's on the small side, though and we've had to wait many times to eat there.
We love subs and such. Being from New England, we head right for the Subs and such as soon as we get into Lakeland while visiting the grandparents! My husband absolutely craves the traditional subs and such grinder with their special oil and vinegar based dressing. While vacationing at his parents', he will often disappear around lunch time and we all know he's at Subs and Such for his special grinder!
You have to go to the White Hut, just because you have to. It's a downright Western Mass cultural experience, that's why. From the greasy grill to the sawdust on the floor, its uniqueness stands out. Some people find it distasteful but it's really just rustic and fun. The burgers I've had there were really tasty--probably a heart attack on a plate from the cheese and grease but very tasty. Wouldn't eat there regularly but it's a must try, especially with the kids.
We love the Sunday brunches at The Log Cabin. So diverse and fresh. Also the presentation cannot be beaten. We have also attended many weddings and other large gatherings here. Every meal has been up to snuff. The surroundings and the view are just lovely. Prices are high, but you won't be disappointed. Service is excellent as well.
My hubby and I have met here many times over the years because we are total garlic freaks. I can't put enough fresh garlic in the food to keep him happy! This place has it down to a science. They have some really different Italian dishes , very Mediterranean menu--all delicious.
This little hole in the wall has the coolest looking mile high apple pies you've ever seen. They do not taste as good as my mom used to make but they are good. Also- if you are a burger or hot dog kind of person, you'll want to give this place a try. That's their specialty. Simple food, done well.
We don't get to Liquori's as soften as we'd like because it's a little out of the way for pizza and does not deliver to us, but when we do go it never disappoints. The pizza is certainly one of the best in the whole area. The meals are delicious and very fairly priced for what you get. Very nice people inside as well.
