Funny story. People who know me will be shocked to see my name here but my mother and I once walked into this place expecting to have lunch. We had no idea it was really a very bar type atmosphere. We were red faced and it was obvious we did not belong. Was very dark and dingy inside. I got out fast!
The Summer House is a fun destination for our family any time of year. The kids often ask to go, especially in the summer for ice cream and their delicious french fries. Sometimes, that's all we get-ice cream and french fries!
When they were smaller, they begged to go have an ice cream cone while "riding the train" in the back yard. Very family friendly--prices are right.
We often have in service business meetings at the Westwood. The food is always good. The service is very good. The atmosphere is pleasing. The desserts are tremendous.
My husband and I took a night out together at Hereford's last week. He ordered the baby back ribs, and I the prime rib. I really enjoyed my prime rib, an end cut the way I like it. My husband got treated to quippy, impatient remarks by the waitress when he asked a few questions about the rib sauce. He was not impressed. The ribs were ok, the sauce tasty and spicy, that's fine, but the meat was off falling off the bone. The smashed potatoes were good with skins in. The salad bar was fresh and everything I tried, except the soup was tasty. Soup was bland. The bread was warm and good. The service was adequate. I would probably try it again but hubby says not with him.
Anything and everything at Cerrato's looks fabulous. It's hard to decide what to choose. I've tried quite a few things over the years and some were good but the greater portion of them were just okay--nothing special. Maybe I'm expecting more because of how wonderful the desserts look? I just don't get why this place is so popular. It doesn' float my sweets boat at all. Sorry.
I don't know of another place where you can buy the mini Italian bread loaves like they make at Giovanni's. The owners and operators are such wonderful people--but of course they would be--they're Italian! The bakery stuff is a given but did you know how good their fresh coffee is? Really good.
Gus and Paul's truly provides a feast for the eyes and the tummy. Every where you look and smell are delightful creations to pick and choose from. Special bakery orders are no problem and their deli is fantastic as well. I love the health salad--like cole slaw but better for you. Who else makes a brown derby cake like they do? No one! Another great factor is that they are a kosher bakery. I like that.
I have traveled from Feeding Hills all the way to the Springfield plaza just to get a special order cake from Koffee Kup bakery. They do the kind of special orders that you just don't find everywhere. For instance, they make number cakes for birthdays or anniversaries. They do a tremendous job on both taste and presentation. Their prices are very reasonable, too.
I used this salon twice before becoming a regular at the Style Cottage up the road, closer to me. They did a fine job and the place was very clean and neat. It was a pleasant atmosphere. It's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The people were very nice and my daughter and I were both pleased with their work. Prices are on the higher side.
Who doesn't love Memo's? The muffins are huge and delicious, the breakfasts are yummy, albeit calorie full, and the wait staff is always fun. It's a staple of our community and you have to go there once in a while--you just have to!
