My husband has to use Quest Labs often for bloodwork. They are good about getting you in at your appointment time and not making you wait. They handle insurance issues flawlessy also.
Crowne Plaza took over and renovated the old Harley Hotel. The lobby looked fresh with new carpet. The wedding reception room was nice, and the food was very good. Waitstaff was very attentive. The rooms are updated also.
I love the Enfield Once Upon a Child. My kids grew fast, and I would be in there often submitting their small clothes so that I could get bigger clothes. We used right up until they were both out of size 14. I was able to walk away with great deals on church shoes, a hard to find shawl, beautiful dresses, jeans, etc. Most items are in very good condition.
The Enfield library was just big enough to always find what we needed. There are so many programs, I can't even begin to mention. The best part though was the selection of museum passes. We used Basketball Hall of Fame. Pequot museum, Trolley museum, NE Air museum, and Roaring Brook Nature Center. When we moved I continued to use Enfield until my card expired....
It's a Grind opened within the last 2 years where Dunkin Donuts used to be. It has a drive thru, and it is a nice place to stop by for coffee. They have Hawaiian Hazelnut and Vanilla Nut, among many other flavors. Also mochas and espressos. Bagels too. I feel bad for them as Dunkin Donuts relocated about 1/2 a mile away, and now a brand new Starbucks has gone in across the street.
The Big E is a highlight every year, even though many times it feels like not much has changed from the year before. It is very well run and organized. They often provide "free" entertainment, such as Fall 06 when Carrie Underwood performed. The Midway especially can be pricey, but they do run all you can ride specials.
We stopped into the Skate Lair for skateboard wheels. It was dark and a little too heavy metalish for our liking. From now on, we'll get whatever is needed from online sources. But they did have what was needed.
I've called N.E. Ice Cream three times in the last 2 years to come stop by our softball fields. It's hard to give too much notice, because you're never sure of the weather, but these guys have come willingly each time. You have to guarantee them $50 in business, but that has been easy to reach each time. It is always a treat for the kids...
We went to Bernies for our latest HDTV that was an advertised special. They didn't try the old bait and switch like many do. (you get there when the store opens and they say that they have no more left). It was a pleasant surprise to see thay had what they advertised. They had a great financing option too. Knowledgeable salesmen. Great experience.
American Food Mart is on the main road, right on front of my dentist office. I just stopped by for milk on my way past. It is convenient, but a little drabby looking. Prices are high for most items, as in most smaller stores. Gas is on par with prices in CT.
