The Party Warehouse is in a good location at the corner of a plaza in West Springfield. But I prefer other party stores over this one. I didnt find it well stocked, and the staff was not thrilled to have to asnswer questions...
Party World is probably being overshadowed by the IPartys and stores like that, but this is the original party supply store. For bulk items needed for showers, balloons, paper goods, the prices are good. When I needed a special wig, the Natl chains didn't have, but Party World did. The store isn't exactly bright and cheery, but you'll find what you need here.
Illianos in Middletown is where I often order luncheon food for my sales presentations. They have always done a great job with hot and fresh food. Meatballs, Lasagna, and Chicken Parm are always a hit.
For the last few years, we've had opportunities to be game testers for Hasbro. The kids have gone 2 or 3 times each. Each time they are interviewed and observed. Hasbro wants honest answers to help in the development and marketing. The kids always come away with some sort of game and it has been a great experience.
I highly recommend The Guardian Care program thru Baystate Gas. For about $150 a year, we were covered for any problems with the hot water heater. Our hot water heater was right next to our dryer, and lint would accumulate on part of the heater. Being a part of this program made us priority customers, and we would get service within hours. Without Guardian Care, I would have had to wait for days instead. Days without hot water would not have been good! When we moved, they overbilled us, but took care of it promptly.
Scibellis Mobil is at a great location. If you're on 57, or 10/202, it's easy in and easy out. The gas prices are competitive. I haven't used the little car wash yet, but will at some point. They have vacuums too.
Rockys sent us a welcome to the town gift certificate to come use in their store. That was a nice gesture, and I made a point to stop by and use it. It's always nice to try to give business to the smaller, non-national stores. Rockys will be the place that I stop now when we need things for the home. Friendly staff and cashiers. It was a little hard to figure out where to park, but now that I know, it's no big deal.
J Chaunceys in West Springfield is a great, unique furniture and furnishings store. When we needed a Christmas gift for a person who truly has everything, my husband headed here and found an item that he had never seen anywhere else. It was classy and very reasonably priced.
What a shame that this little plaza is only partially rented. The location is good on the northern border of Westfield, convenient to Holyoke and Easthampton. I've been to Golden Peacock and to Louis and Clark. Each time that I've been to the plaza, I felt bad for the other stores here that just dont seem to have a chance to be noticed. There is much potential in this plaza!
After we moved we got a bill from Baystate that showed us using Gas after we had already left the house. I called to see what happened. The simple answer was that they were behind in reading meters from residences where people had moved. A new bill would be coming showing correct adjustment as soon as they were caught up. It eventually came, and I paid it. In the meantime, it had been turned over to a bill collector! The whole thing was pretty frustrating. Until then, I never had a problem with Baystate Gas. It did get resolved...
