The Oneota Community Co-op is one of the best Co-op's and organic food stores I've ever been to. They just moved to a larger location and now they have almost everything you need. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help you find something. Great selection of bulk foods and organic cheeses and organic wines.
The whippy dip is a local summer hangout with great ice cream and other snacks. Only open in the summer. A great small town alternative to chain ice cream stores.
T-Bocks has great burgers and a fun atmosphere. They also have a large sandwich selection. You can't beat their prices or the friendliness of everyone there. I've had a great time every time I've been there.
La Rana is a unique restaurant, the atmosphere is great and the waitstaff is friendly. Their food is excellent and much of the food is locally grown and produced. The prices are a bit high for Decorah, but go for Lunch where the prices are reasonable and the food is 5 star.
Broadstreet is the best restaurant in Rochester. Nice, romantic atmosphere. Service is the best. Try the Duck, Ostrich, or the Ginger crusted Ahi Tuna, but everything is always spectacular. Great wine list and unique martinis.
Newts has the best hamburgers in Rochester, hands down They are huge and very good. Service is always friendly and fast. Lots of beer on tap. Try Dave's Burger.
La Fonda is a great spanish restaurant in Highland Park. We love the chicken or pork riojana (can ask for one pork chop and one chicken breast). Shrimp ajillo appetizer is also excellent. Service is always impeccable. Sangria is also great. You won't be disappointed here!
City Cafe is a great restaurant. We have been here several times and the wait staff is always excellent. Try the grilled fresh scallops with apple cider beurre blanc. The city cafe sirloin with sun dried tomato butter is also excellent. Their seafood is flown in fresh everyday and is always excellent. Entrees range from $17-25.
John Hardy's has the best BBQ ribs in Rochester. The BBQ turkey is also excellent. Prices are very inexpensive and service is friendly and QUICK. The garlic bread is amazing.
Kyles is the best place to get fresh seafood in St. Augustine. Kyle and his staff are friendly and will help you with any questions or suggestions. He has the absolute best smoked salmon anywhere (including the Pacific NW). Prices are the best in town too!
