Rubys Inn Lodge

Bryce, UT Hotels 02/14/08: 'Ruby's Inn'

We traveled to Ruby's Inn for a special weekend with our grandson. We had heard great reviews and they were all true. The lobby has a huge stone fireplace just inviting you to sit and stay awhile. The rooms were adequately furnished and clean. Our room overlooked the pool and our grandson took kayak lessons. They had lots of fun events going on during this weekend and we participated in everything. The restaurant had a buffet although the food was nothing special. The value for the money and the fun experience was fabulous. We highly recommend this spot and of course, you can't beat the beauty of the Bryce Canyon.

Jacob Lake Inn

Fredonia, AZ Hotels 02/14/08: 'Jacob Lake Inn'

On a recent trip to the Grand Canyon, we stopped for an overnight at Jacobs Ranch. Nothing fancy but the price was right and the rooms were comfortable. Not as clean as we would have prefered, as we stayed in one of the outside cabins. The restaurant food was just OK, nothing special. But the bakery seletions were wonderful. It is a bit far from the Canyon itself, but was the closest we could get at the last minute.

Antiquity Rose Antiques

This restaurant is nestled in the quaint town of Excelsior. The setting is a restored historical home that has tons of charm. The menu is simple but great downhome cooking. It is stocked full of antiques that are also for sale. A lunch with a friend, a walk through this historic town and a boat ride on Lake Minnetonka would be a perfect day!!!

Eddington's

Minneapolis, MN Restaurants 02/14/08: 'Eddingtons'

Whenever we are back in Minnesota, Eddingtons is a must. A great soup and salad and sandwich bar, it is a homey, comfortable, clean restaurant. Moderately priced, the soups taste just like Grandmas. Their breadsticks which are served hot and crusty are my favorite. Makes me hungry for Jackie's Jumbalaya Soup! Yum!
Once I carried this soup on the plane from Minneapolis to my family who missed this restaurant so much!!!

The Grand America Hotel

If you are wanting a "grand" experience, try this hotel. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. The facility is truly "grand". It is quite expensive and luxurious. The restaurants are excellent although our wait for dinner was quite long. The food was wonderfully presented and portions were adequate.

Nebo Gymnastics

Spanish Fork, UT Gymnastics 02/14/08: 'Nebo Gymnastics'

Nebo is a small yet nicely equipped gymnastics studio. They keep their class sizes small and devote lots of personal attention to their students. They have college gymnasts as staff members who were careful about safety and high on compliments for students. A good atmosphere exists here.

Sees Candies

There is no equal!!! As a small child in California, this wonderful candy shop became and remains a family tradition. When we moved away from California,it was the thing we missed the most. So glad to be back in See's territory. They give everyone who enters the candy shop a great sample. I wouldn't miss it. I have lots of favorites but never really tasted a See's I didn't like!!!

[x] Excluded from College Heights United Methodist Preschool fundraiser because chain store reviews are ineligible.

Winger's American Fork

American Fork, UT Restaurants 02/14/08: 'Wingers'

Winger's is a fun spot for lunch. With a diner atmosphere, it takes you back in time. They have many choices of juicy burgers. My favorite is the bacon/bleu cheese. It comes loaded with fries and condiments. Their fries are yummy and then of course...the milkshakes are made fresh. Put a quarter in the jukebox and wear a poodle skirt. Great service and prices, too!
