Marlowe's
Marlowe's is the epitome of upscale dining. Chef specials are "very special" and the atmosphere is rich and inviting. They also have private dining rooms available for your next special party.
Children's Home Assn-Illinois
Part of the Children's Home is the Kiefer School. This is a private day treatment school for children from 5 to 21. It serves 140 students from a 75 mile radius of Peoria and goes all year round. All students are either labeled Behavior Disordered or Emotionally Disturbed. Fantastic services are provided!
Haddad's Super Market
A mom and pop grocer with the most amazing deli around. Specializes in Lebanese foods. They have been in business for many years and are well known in the Peoria area.
Gregg Florist
Gregg Florist is an established full service florist serving the Peoria area for 40 years. They specialize in weddings and architectural floral design. Highly recommend.
Childers Eatery
It's a family friendly dining experience with evening specials, a nice variety of salads and breakfast all day. It has great coffee and good company.
Kbl Design
The lighting selections at KBL are very good. They offer several different brands on display along with lots of different styles. They will work directly with a vendor to ensure your selection will work in your home. I especially like working with Ed! I wouldn't recommend the kitchen cabinets however.
Chad's Steakhouse & Saloon
If you like a western or saloon type decor, this is your place. The selection is very good and the wait staff are very friendly. Steaks are pretty good, although you could probably find better. Try their unique appetizers!
22 Street Barber Shop
Old fashion barber. His motto - "If I can't make you look good, you must be ugly!" Competent, down home atmosphere. The cut was OK - no frills. Lance Ryberg, the owner, is a sports history buff so if like that type of conversation, this might be the place for you.
Hotel Fort Des Moines
This place has been a downtown Des Moines landmark for many years. Although the place is very old, it offers some updated amenities. The corner suite is very spacious but they don't have too many. Bar/restaurant are very nice too.
Nick's Bar & Grill
Nicks is a wonderful place with great selections and decor. Their salads are especially good. Atmosphere is wonderful also. They are easy to get to, but if you go at the busy lunch hour or dinner time, you will have to wait. The place is not too big.
