Horizon Diner
I think that Horizon Diner gets pretty neglected due to the two larger diners farther down on Route 17. I love the breakfasts at Horizon and the fact that I never have to wait when I go there. I particularly love their sausage. The prices are low and the food is great!
Tiffany Diner
Tiffany Diner was one of the favorite spots to go after musicals and late nights out in high school. They have amazing cheese fries and buffalo wings. Their breakfasts are rather good as well. The price is relatively low.
Butterflake Bake Shop
Butterflake Bake Shop is a great place to go for baked goods. The first time I had something from there it was challah French Toast made by my friend's family. It was the best challah that I have ever had!
The Posie Peddler
The Posie Peddler is the only place that I go for flowers in Saratoga. You can either pick out your own flowers or have someone else pick them out and make an arrangement for you. They have a huge selection of fresh flowers as well as silk ( I think). Everyone is helpful and the flowers are really high in quality.
Hunger Mountain Coop
Hunger Mountain is a great Coop that has tons of organic foods and uncommon brands. It has a huge selection of wine, beer, and cider as well as bread baked freshly every day. They have a buffet with soups and hot entrees. There is a health and beauty section will many vitamins and all natural products. I go here to buy gluten free items for my boyfriend. The produce is kind of pricey but if you are looking for a specialty item you are sure to find it here.
Morse Farm Sugar Works
Morse Farm Sugar Shack, as locals and the sign call it, is a really nice little maple syrup/sugar factory just outside of Montpelier. My boyfriend lives literally right around the corner so we have visited there on several occasions. They have tons of things and delicious maple syrup. This is the real stuff and you can taste test all of their syrups and jams/jellies/pie fillings. They also have maple creamies (or soft serve for those of us who are not native Vermonters) which I have yet to taste but hear great things. In the winter they sell Christmas trees and in the spring before the snow is all gone they have something called Sugar on Snow. Tons of people come and they make candy by pouring liquid maple sugar on the snow. I want to go this year!
Something Bleu Bridal & Bird
I went here with my sister who is getting married in August to look for a veil. The people there were so friendly and knowledgeable. My sister described her dress style and how she wants to do her hair and automatically the sales associate knew the perfect veil for her. My sister was thrilled! They are even going to match a swatch of her dress color to the different veils to ensure that they match. I browsed the dresses and saw at least five that I wanted! I don't know about price but if you are looking for ideas and great advice go here.
Charlie Brown's Steakhouse
I LOVE Charlie Browns Steakhouse! One of my favorite things about it is that it has an extensive salad bar that comes with the meals or can be added for a small price. My other favorite thing is their surf and turf dinner. The steak is delicious and the lobster is perfect. They have a lot of specials and deals depending on the day of the week. There is tons of seating and the service is friendly. The prices are in th 13-25 dollar range depending on what you get.
Chicken & Rib Crib
Chicken and rib crib has delicious wings and ribs. The meat is tender and juicy and falls off the bones. They offer different flavored wings if I recall correctly and everything is delicious! They have different side dishes as well but I mostly just get chicken and ribs. It is a take out place and it delivers and caters. Try it!
El Bandido Mexican Rstrnt Inc
I love Mexican food and El Bandido delivered on taste, portion and price. There is a live mariachi band there every night taking requests and maneuvering around the tables to serenade everyone. There were tons of choices on the menu and they gave us some free food and a free shot at the end of the meal. They move you through pretty quickly, however, and the restaurant itself is rather small and loud. I highly recommend it because of the food but if you are looking for an intimate meal, this is not the place for you.
