Antonio's Pizza is definitely the place to go for great pizza. They sell mainly pizza by the slice and the variety of toppings is wonderful. It is always packed but they move people through very quickly. It's well worth any wait you might encounter.
The Fireplace has been grilling hamburgers since the 1950's. They have expanded their menus in recent years to include chicken and pizza. But their hamburgers and fries are still our favorite. They have the best pickles at their fixings bar. Another excellent choice is their steak sandwich which is served on delicious bread with a hint of garlic.
Excel Orthopedic Rehab in Oakland is a superior rehab facility. They specialize in sports related injuries and rehab. My daughter recently had shoulder surgery necessitated by a softball injury. The physical therapists there worked with her three times a week. She made very rapid progress but they took care to not push her too far too fast. She is now back playing softball and looks forward to the first painless season in a long time.
Waldwick Paint is a well supplied local paint store. They not only have everything you might want for a painting project but also have a great selection of wallpapers and borders.
Pro Nails is a very nice little salon in Mahwah. They operate either with or without an appointment. They are a full service nail salon including waxing services. Even without an appointment the wait is never very long. They seem to have enough employees to keep things running smoothly.
Chicken & Rib Crib has the best ribs and wings anywhere. Their ribs are so juicy and meaty, falling right off the one and into your mouth. Their barbecue comes in several levels of heat from sweet to spicy. They operate as a take out restaurant but they also do catering.
Ramsey Liquors is conveniently located in downtown Ramsey. The sales help is very friendly and you get the feel of a small town store where everyone knows everyone else. Their selection of wines however is anything but small town. It is a bit more expensive than some but worth it for the convenience and selection.
Urban Auto Spa is new in Ramsey. It is in the same location as the old Stop & Glo car wash and jiffy lube. The operation is very smooth and the facility is spotless. The prices are a bit higher that the previous owners but still reasonable. The oil change side of the business works very efficiently and delivers your car to the front of the building so you don't have to deal with getting through the car wash lane to get out.
We have taken our cars to Prestige service department for many years. It is not cheap but if the repair is critical to the safety and performance of the car, this is the place we go. Depending on who actually services your car though, you have to be careful that you don't end up doing some repairs that could wait. I think sometimes they look to make an extra buck but since I keep good records for my car it has not been a problem for me.
How often can you say that the service department at a car dealer won't rip you off. My experience at D & C of Tenafly is that t hey are one of a rare breed. They have always done what they said they would do and not tried to sell me on repairs that didn't really need to be done right then. That gives me a comfort level that I really appreciate.
