As you might expect this is where you go if you need socks. Any kind of sock. Mens, womens, boys & girls. Fancy socks, work socks and athletic socks. If you need socks, this is the place, They also carry some clothes for dance, and assorted sweats but mostly they are known for their socks.
The food here is not bad. Sometimes it seems to be better than other times. The salsa bar is great so you can always jazz up whatever you order. I enjoy their taco salad and their guacamole and chips are really pretty good. The prices are reasonable so it is worth a try.
If you want to get anything pierced this is the place to go. The shop is very clean and they are very careful with t he equipment they use. They have a very wide assortment of jewelry for piercings as well. It is nice to have someplace local that you can trust to do a good job.
Carvel is conveniently located in downtown Ramsey. The have chocolate, vanilla, and choc/vanilla twist soft serve ice cream in cones or cups. They also have sundaes and shakes. For those of you that prefer hard ice cream they have that too. There is also a freezer full of ice cream cakes for those special occasions. If you want a particular size or shape you can also order one.
Maggie Moos is a different kind of ice cream shop. You get to create your own flavor of ice cream. First you pick out a base flavor-say chocolate. Then you choose from a large assortment of things to add to your creation like brownie ( a whole brownie chopped up), nuts, sprinkles, chocolate chips, coconut, gummy bear - you get the idea. Then they mash your ice cream and your additions on an ice cold surface until it becomes your special blend of ice cream. Lots of fun and really delicious!
Ben & Jerry's ice cream is the best. The hardest part about going there is trying to decide what flavor to order. My current favorite is Mint Chocolate Chunk although New York Super Fudge Chunk is a close runner up. It is not cheap but it is worth every penny.
We have been going to Bar Harbor every year fro about 18 years. This year we discovered Gringos on a little side street in Bar Harbor. They have a limited menu but the items they carry are very good. Their burritos are great. The prices are very fair. It's a great place for lunch.
Miguels Mexican Kitchen looks like it should be really great. In fact, it used to be. But recently the food has taken a turn for the worse. The margaritas and chips and salsa are still great and the atmosphere is very authentic. Prices seem high for what you get.
Parkside Restaurant is nicely located in the middle of town in Bar Harbor. The offer very nice outdoor seating so you have a great view of the bustling town. The food is decent and the staff is friendly.
Bar Harbor is filled with many stores where you can find souvenirs and such. But some stand out more than others. We feel Jekyll & Hyde is one of these. It has things that you won't find in the other stores. The prices are fair and the staff is friendly.
