I tried Heng's today for the first time and although I was not overly impressed, I'd probably still go back in a pinch. I stuck with just the satay appetizer and a bowl of soup because I'm not a big sushi fan (the sushi menu seemed to have way more going on than the Thai) and the lunch special was a) a whopping $12 and b) two items I'd probably never choose anyway. So my Thai iced tea was good, but the soup was pretty terrible. Instead of being all lime and coconut flavored, the bowl was completely overtaken by sliced, raw onion. The satay was meh. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere, though!
I went to a small shower here for a good friend. It was an intimate party, with lovely food and teas. I felt like it really gave the guest of honor a chance to feel really special in such a lovely, cozy setting.
Jones Automotive is pretty great. John is friendly & fast, and has taken care of my family's vehicle repairs for several years. I find him to be really fair - it's a small shop, so keep that in mind if you're crunched for time.
I could very easily be Dr. Leboy's biggest fan. A shoulder & neck problem that had bothered me for years was fixed up in one session with Dr. Leboy. He gave me easy exercises that I could do at home to keep things in check, and I head in to see him every couple months just to make sure everything's lined up.
I'm with Debbie on this one - there have been times I've been to New Harmony and it's been amazing, especially the Dim Sum. But other times, it's been bland or boring. Stay away from the "Hawaiian chicken." It's not the cleanest place in the world, but for an all-vegetarian restaurant, the selection is pretty varied.
Dr. Vladyka is part of the family practice office at PCOM. He's fantastic. I just switched to this practice last year and have been happy with it. Dr. Vladyka listened carefully to what was going on and came up with a plan of attack to figure out how to fix things. He's friendly and funny and has a great bedside manner.
I've heard great things about Auspicious, and to walk by it looks absolutely lovely inside. That being said, our vegetarian takeout was a little lackluster and didn't "wow" us like we'd hoped. I'd go again, and based on the reviews of others I'd recommend it, but I hope next time it's more auspiciously delicious.
Friends from college play in a band that does a lot of local shows, and whenever they hit J D McGillicuddy's I just walk on over to see them. They have a good beer selection & tasty appetizers, and a great staff!
Precious Chinese is my favorite north Jersey restaurant. I love sitting outside at sunset. Their vegetarian selection is great, and their Tangerine Tofu was something we ordered over and over again.
I wanted so much to fall in love with Dixie Picnic! They came highly recommended by a friend, and I arranged to meet someone there & drove a half hour with a carful of excited kids. The whole ride there we talked about what flavor upcakes we might get!
The gelato was tasty, and the upcakes were fine. They're upside down cupcakes, which is a nice catch, but they were nothing $2.50 special, you know? We didn't have lunch, and I would like to go back sometime to try it.
The bottom line is that I spent almost $20 on ice cream and cake and didn't love it, but I could be convinced to make a return visit.
