I love this fine Chirstian Book Shop. They have prices competitve to the bigger stores and they are eager to please. They are especially helpful when shopping for gifts and Bibles. Try them out they are great!
Three strikes and you are out! I tried earlier in 2008 to get a cone of ice cream there--the server tried to make my cone from the crusty ice cream at the bottom of the container. When I protested, since she had another container, I promptly left and went to the ice cream shop down Cass avenue for a nice fresh chocolate cone that was cheaper than Travelers. Later in the summer my hubby and I went to try the cafe for dinner. Well, it sucked. The pastry on the pot pie was hard and not tasty, the food was bland. I stupidly tried this morning for the third attempt to try their breakfast pastry. I waited unrecognized for a few minutes while employees walked by. I turned around, walked across the street to La Petite Sweet for my second visit. I was greeted cheerfully and got my morning snack, pumpkin bread for my hubby and ordered a cake. I won't be traveling to Travelers again. It is definitely not worth the trip! PS: I live in Westmont and I try to buy local.
My husband and I really enjoy the Christ Centered Christian Community at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hinsdale. The preaching and teaching are totally Biblically based. The worship music is terrific! The songs are easy to sing most everyone does. The worship team and the praise band are especially talented with instruments ranging from the bass to the violin and the accordion. People travel from as far away as Chicago, Wheaton, Naperville, and Bolingbrook to attend Trinity. There is also a nursery and Children's Church for the kids. After the 9:30 a.m. service, there is a fellowship time. Then at 11:00 a.m., there are Sunday school classes for the adults, senior high kids, middle school kids and the younger kids. There is youth ministry as well. The small group ministry is key in developing a sense of community in this newer, yet growing Church. Meeting twice a month in small groups, we review the sermon and dig deeper in the text. There is also fellowship and prayer together. There are two thriving men??s Bible studies and two excellent women??s Bible studies. It is great place to forge deeper friendships. Trinity meets in the Hinsdale Middle School on Garfield and is moving to The Community Center on Madison in Hinsdale in May 2008. Don??t let the location scare you. You will soon forget you are not in an actual Church building. After all, Church is about worshipping God. The teaching and the people, not the building, make Trinity Presbyterian Church so special! We love it!
