Mission Gorge Animal Hospital
Just like many others, I thought Dr. Lee was a very kind, well respected man who knew what he was doing. Untill, that is, my cat developed a sore on the roof of her mouth. When the sore was small, but hurting my cat very much, I took her to see Dr. Lee. He said, "it is probably nothing," and gave her antibiotics, a shot, and something else (sorry for the lack of memory.) None of this helped, the sore continued to worsen, and my cat was unable to eat and was constantly scratching at her face and gagging. I called Dr. Lee and told him the meds didn't work, and he told me to force feed her baby food, then bring her back if she wasn't getting better. She didn't get better. I brought her back a second time, and Dr. Lee perscribed her the SAME medicine that I told him didn't work. Mind you, both times it was over $200. He claimed that he didn't have any record of her visiting the first time. Turns out, he had all of her information in the folder with my dog, and didn't believe me when I told him that my cat's prescriptions were listed under my DOG'S name on the bottle! I told him I would not pay for the same meds, and that I wanted blood work done. He said it was probably pointless, and pricey, because he knew that it wasn't anything too harmfull. I requested blood work anyway. A couple days later I got a call from him saying the blood work was all negative, and to continue her on the SAME meds. She only got worse. She began having seziers on a daily basis, wetting the bed, and stopped eating. I was furious. I finally took her to a feline specialist a few days ago who right away diagnosed her with oral cancer. He said that it was so bad, that it had eaten through the roof of her mouth all the way into her naval cavity. When she eats, she constantly sneezes because the food goes into her nose. He said he couldn't believe our vet didn't notice this, and said it was impossible for it not to have shown up in the blood work. He told me that if it was caught in the beginning stages (when we brought her to Dr. Lee the first time) they could have operated and removed the sore and she would be cancer free. He told me that it is too extreme, and that operating would only leave her horribly disfigured, and she would have to eat from a tube for the rest of her life. When I found this out, all I could do was cry...then get angry...then cry some more. How could a DOCTOR not see this??? I hear from people how wonderful and consistant he is, but now my cat will have to be put down because of HIS carelessness. I am very close to filing a lawsuit against him. I don't believe he even tested my cat for cancer!!! I will never give him business again for my dog, or any of my families pets again, and I ask that you do the same.
