It's on Cleveland Ave near Ralphs/Trader Joe's and it's simply wonderful! I've been going there for about 5 yrs! The owner is personable and makes it a point to introduce himself and speak to customers. The cook (George) is amazing and makes the best chicken I've ever tasted in my life! The hummus is wonderful and the pita is fresh and made on site. If you haven't been here you must try it out! It's fresh and healthy and delicious!
It wasn't so much the therapy staff, the business staff is the reason I will never go back. I was receiving therapy there for my shoulder. My last visit was on the afternoon of 12/19 and I was taking a cross-country red-eye flight later that night to visit family for the holidays. The therapy assistant or whatever he was had me working with weights for the first time. I told him it was hurting and it was very difficult but he told me if the pain wasn't bad to keep going. That night I had the most miserable flight of my life! I was in so much pain that I took three pain pills during the 8 hour flight (2 hr layover) and I only take pain pills if the pain is unbearable. I was in so much pain for the next three days that I spent most of the beginning of my vacation in bed. My next appt. was scheduled for 12/28 at 8 AM. I was supposed to get home at 1PM on 12/27 but had a terrible delay (maybe I should write another review on Delta Airlines!) and I didn't get home until after midnight! I walked into my condo to find my kitchen flooded. I live in a condo and realized the next day that whenever the people upstairs used their garbage disposal water came up through my sink and overflowed onto the counters and floor. Needless to say, I missed my 8AM appt the next day since I was up until about 4AM trying to clean the water up. I had another appt for 1/2 and I called on 12/31 to cancel that appt so I could deal with the kitchen mess and I was informed that I signed a document stating that I had to cancel within 48 hours or I would be charged $25 for my missed appt and for the one I was trying to cancel. I explained my situation to her and she said she would make a note of it and I assumed that they would realize that accidents happen and that I wouldn't be charged.
I went to my appt on 1/4 and was informed that I owed $75 before I could see the therapist. I asked her how could I owe $75 for two missed appointments and she went to get the business manager. I was in pain and under a ton of stress because half my kitchen had just been torn out by a flood restoration company and after arguing with her for several minutes I told her to consider this a missed appt too and I walked out of the office. I then got a letter invoice for $75 and I wrote them a letter with my $75 check telling them that just lost a client for $75 and that maybe the should consider some customer service training in the office. I received a letter back stating that they gave me a break by not charging me a $100... I had 3 visits total and this idiot is telling me that he's giving me a break by not screwing up and overcharging me?? I then went to Spine & Sport for the remainder of my therapy and they were so very different from Levas! It was an enjoyable experience and I'm glad that Levas lost me as a client because if I ever have the need for physical therapy again I will not hesitate to see Kate at Spine & Sport in the Gaslamp!
I went to this clinic for a workman's comp issue and they had me coming in for weekly check ups for about a month. On one visit I had to wait 2.5 hours because the doctor was still out to lunch. It was raining that day and they told me they had been busier than anticipated so he had to take a late lunch. 2.5 hours? One would have been acceptable if there story was true (only one other person was there when I was there). On nearly every occasion I had to wait at least a half hour to see the doctor. He takes walk-ins but I always assumed I had priority since I had an appointment. On my last visit (last week) my appt was at 4 PM and I signed in at 3:40. I was still sitting in the exam room waiting for the doctor at 5 PM at which time I walked out and told them I didn't want to come back. It's not a big deal if it happens once or twice because things happen but when it becomes the 'norm' they don't deserve me as a client.
