If you are looking for a different type of martial arts, be sure to follow-up on Aikido, specifically the Aikido of Plano on Los Rios Boulevard. Aikido offers self-defense, but more importantly, it teaches self-improvement. It is a very flowing, smooth type of martial art, as opposed to the more aggressive, combative martial arts.
Gavi Italian Restaurant
Based on a personal referral from a local Tucson resident, we went to Gavi's Italian Restaurant. We asked for something that was unique to Tucson, not a national chain, that was up-scale, and that served great food. We definitely got what we wanted/requested, and more. The portions are huge, and there were so many different things to try.
Charlie Clark's Steak House
Charlie Clark's Steak House is a long-time provider of steaks in Pinetop, Arizona. The service was friendly, and the food was good. We had steak and bar-b-que ribs.
Indian Pine Restaurant
Be sure to check-out the buffet at the Indians Pine Restaurant at the Hon-Dah Resort on the White Mountain Apach Reservation. The place serves visitors, as well as locals. While we were there, a family was celebrating a birthday.
Linda's Indian Arts & Crafts
If you are looking for petrified wood, rocks, Indian arts & crafts, jewelry, novelties, then you need to stop in at Linda's Indian Arts & Crafts. We bought a wonderful Indian blanket that my mom uses everyday.
Town & Country Food Stores
While in Midland at a large, youth, softball tournament, we stopped in at the Town & Country Food Store to pick up a bite of lunch. It was very busy. The service staff was very friendly, as well as the other customers. The food was good and as expected for convenience store food.
Allsup's Convenience Store
While on the way home from a trip to Tucson, Arizona, we stopped in at Allsups Convenience Stores in Abilene, Texas, at approximately midnight. The people were very friendly. The place was actually very busy, and the snacks collection was very good.
Poehler Merchantile Antique
If you are going antique-ing, then you must stop in at Poehler Mercantile Antique Mall in Emporia, KS. It has a variety of merchandise and reasonable prices.
Coburn's Family Restaurant
While in Emporia for a family wedding, we ate a number of times at the Coburns Family Restaurant. They have great breakfasts, and lunches. The service is friendly and polite. We really had a good time using the drive-through, since it was so different from the abrupt, super fast, non-friendly drive-throughs in Dallas. Be sure to say hi to the owners.
