Located in Halstad, MN for all of your insurance needs. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I've had my insurance with them since I had my first car and apartment. They always look to find me the best deal. I'm also partial because it is owned by my uncle :)
I really like that Byerly's is open 24 hours a day for those emergencies when I just can't make it to the store before 9PM or have to go before 8AM. They are also improving in their selection of healthier foods, organic sections and bulk bins. They still need to impove on their organic fruit and vegetable sections though, still not much to choose from. Byerly's is within walking distance to my house, which is another bonus for them. Their prices for the healthier items is still higher than other health food stores, so I don't shop here often.
If you are looking for a special Christmas gift or your standard Hallmark cards and ornaments, this is a good place to start. Chanhassen Center Drug is located in the strip mall by Cub Foods on Highway 5. Last year for Christmas I needed to buy a special learning game for kids and didn't know what it was or where I could find it, but one day I opened up my Chanhassen Center Drug coupon book they send in the mail and there it was and half the price of what I could by at another store. This year my sister asked for an acrylic case for her ipod nano and they also had that in their coupon book. You never know what you are going to find in their sale aisle, it changes all the time. They also sell the Yankee Candles. You are sure to find something special at this store and also your standard drug store items.
Located in the strip mall across from the Minnetonka Lakewinds. They make very healthy bread using whole grains. Prices are very reasonable and is always baked fresh. They have a weekly menu so they make some different breads each weekday. Check their website or location for their daily special. They also do seasonal specials and will supply your bread and baking needs for holidays if you call ahead and order for Thanksgiving or whatever holiday you want. You can get Great Harvest Bread at local health food stores, but your largest selection will be at the store itself.
The Wedge co-op has a great location right on Lyndale Ave. in Uptown. I like their wide selection in the bulk aisle and their fresh food section. The Wedge has a larger selection than Lakewinds. They are usually pretty busy, at least all the times that I have been there. I like that they recognize the Lakewinds memberships here too.
I've been here two times and both times for Sunday brunch. They have a nice selection of breakfast items. They use organic fruits and vegetables when they can and have healthful options for vegetarians. It can get a little busy so you might want to avoid high traffic times. You order like you would at a fast food restaurant, up at the counter, but then you get a sign to put on your table and they bring you the food when it is ready. I had the spinach omelet and the other time I had a bowl of oatmeal and fruit. I love the French Meadow Bakery sprouted grains and yeast free bread.
Beautiful gardens and walking trails. I've been here a few times and it is so beautiful. Last year I went on a Tuesday I think and you can go free on Tuesdays. Check with them this year and find out when you can go free, otherwise there is a small fee. They have many different gardens and a shop and restaurant where you can sit and rest. Thinking about it is giving me spring fever!
I live just a block from the Chanhassen Library and I got a library card a few years ago. I was so pleased to find out that you can borrow videos and books on tape. Last year I borrowed a pilates video for a few weeks and it was so nice not to have to buy one and when I sick of it after a month I just brought it back. You can also extend your due date by going on line to renew for another 2 weeks. They will charge a dollar per day if you are late on returning videos.
This place is now called Great Plains Dental, with Mark Davies DDS. He took over last year when Stephen Benson C DDS retired. The staff remained the same and I've always had Peggy as my hygienist. Having a gentle well qualified hygienist always makes it a pleasant visit. Last year I had to make an emergency trip to the dentist to have a filler put in my front tooth because a chip came out of it and Mark Davies did an excellent job and you can't even tell that I have a filler in because he matched the color to my original tooth very well. I've been going here for about 7 years and have been very happy with them. This is a small office so you do have to make an appointment well in advance but it is not bad because you can schedule out 6 months in advance.
I like Golden Tan in Chanhassen because I rarely call ahead for an appointment and I can usually always get in right away. I only go a few times in the winter months and can usually get in on a good sale, but I only gave it 4 stars because the prices are a bit high. The staff is very friendly, the place is very clean and the beds are always fresh. I also like that it is a small place, they only have about 7 beds. They are located next to Wendy's in Chanhassen.
