This is a nifty restaurant. The specialize in seafood, but the also serve chicken, beef, pasta and salads. The food is really good and very reasonably priced. It is a rather large place so there is not usually a wait. The service is very friendly from the hostess, to the bartender to waitress.
My wife had her bridal shower on the patio of Marmalades and it was a big hit. She took me here before and we dined on the patio. The food was fantastic and very well priced. The decor was a little girly for me but my wife was very happy with it (Great place for a guy to take a girl) The service was friendly.
Lawry's has that perfect Old School charm and wonderful food mixed together. There Prime Rib is the best there is. The restaurant is very warm and cozy. They have a great bar to hang out while you are waiting for your table. They can get busy, especially on the weekends so it's best to make a reservation. The prices are on the high side but worth every penny. It's an experience you will remember for years. FYI: you have to pay for parking.
First of all, this place is amazing from the minute you walk in the door. There is an aquarium on the floor. With a name like Crustacean you know they specialize in Seafood. And it is really good and fresh. They are famous for the "Drunken Crab" but the Tiger Prawns are fantastic. They also serve beef, salads and more. The prices are very high, but worth it for a special evening.
Banner Carpets has a very large showroom with a lot of selections. They have everything you could possibly need for your floor. The salesmen are very helpful and friendly. The prices are very competitive.
Texas Looseys serves TexMex BBQ. They have chili, ribds, steaks, hamburgers, catfish and more. The food is pretty good, but it's the service that makes it great. The waitresses wear fancy little outfits. It's not really a family place.
Lazeez Pita Grill has good Mediterranean food. They have broiled chicken, kabobs, chicken and beef shawarma, gyros, falafel, stuffed grape leaves and more. The prices are good and the service is friendly. They have a large eating area in the back with a TV.
If I still lived in Oakland I would eat here everyday. It's that good. I live in LA and I always compare the food to Genovas. Nothing compares. Every time I come up to visit my folks, the first place I eat is here. I fax in my order, and I would recommend that or calling in ahead of time because they get very busy, especially on the weekends.
I must be getting old because I thought the music was too loud on a Saturday night. This is a fun, hot spot where people go more to be seen or meet people than to just go bowling. Everything is new, so the lanes, balls and pins make for a better game. It's pricier than your average bowling alley because you are paying for the ambiance.
Gyu-Kaku is a different kind of restaurant, where you can kiss the cook (if you are dining with your spouse) because you cook your own food over a table top grill, so you can have it just like you like it. They give you a lot of flavorful marinades to perfect your meal. the prices are good, probably because they don't have to pay a chef (ha-ha)
